Mary looked wonderful – I much prefer this gown to her usual navy blue gown. At first glance I too thought it was the other one redesigned, but after having a closer look, I'd say the new one is a darker blue than the old one. The old one is almost the same shade as QMII's gown whereas the new one seems much darker. But I don't know, I'm honestly a dweeb at telling such things. She looked spectacular regardless
It's always so interesting to see the various national costumes – that's definitely my favourite thing about this court.

Beautiful and stunning!
Just I have difficulty to understand all the work that had been to transform Mary from Commoner to a Princess and she Looks always Superb! but PH he is so overweight! it is not healthy, and QM her teeth are so dark! they have access to everything why they do not take care of that aspect! PH used to be so handsome when he was joung! can't believe how he looks now! and I know we all get old and we can not help that but still I think he doesn't look healthy!

Is there another carriage they could use?
I kinda like that its just the Queen and consort arriving by carriage, makes it special.
Although Frederik arriving by horseback in that blue guards uniform would be wonderful

Lovely to see this outfit for a 3rd time. I think Mary has hit the perfect range of recycling/introducing new outfits. I hope she'll continue this trend and not be like Daisy too soon, lol.

First photo- When the CPC enters the room, the butlers do a close inspection of the floor!
Love Mary's outfit, and the guards.
Any still pictures of the Queen?

Yes, there is at least one they could use.
Frederik is entitled to wear the uniform of the Guards Hussars and there wouldn't be anything to hinder Mary from riding in the escort either. She is after all lieutenant in the Home Guard.

Now I can't decide which I like more- the British gold coach or the danish. I think the danish.
Thanks, Muhler!

You are welcome.
Yes, it's covered in genuine 24 carats gold. It's not paint.

This 3rd New Year reception is it a sit down dinner or champagne and nibbles?

Trivia about the first New Year Court, based on articles in Billed Bladet #2, 2015.
Our Marie wore a recycled dress by Ole Yde. While Mary wore a dress by Birgit Hallstein. Her clutch was from Prada and her shoes from Manolo Blahnik.
While BB does not mention where M&F and J&M celebrated their New Years Eve, the Regent Couple only went home at 02.00 in the morning prior to the New Year Court, so little sleep for the RC at least.
Princess Elizabeth was indeed present, wearing a dress by Martha Hetting. But she entered by another entrance and took the elevator up to the Great Hall, where the gala dinner took place.

Wow I knew it- could not believe it. Reminds me of the gold bars I have seen in documentaries on television. And Cinderella's coach.
So the British have a gold coach. And the Danish. Don't the Dutch?
I still say the Danish wins. Wish I could have a ride with the Queen! Dreamt of that last night.
