Gosh, Fred really doesn't look happy in this picture, yet as I said a picture is just a second in time. he does look congested though, or maybe he just misses Mary

He looks pretty much as he usually does - doesn't he?
Perhaps he already had a good laugh before he inspected the troops here and tried to be serious. Apparently, he avoided the main entrance today and used the back door; this set tabloid Ekstra Bladet moving this morning 'where is FRED??', 'Mary must be giving birth' - till someone told them that Frederik was already inside - and was not helping delivering twins elsewhere
Mary better deliver soon - or the blood pressure of some of the journalist who are keeping watch will soon reach danger levels

oh come on, in these pictures frederik looks absolutely normal.
inspecting the tropp with a normal "on-duty" look.
but poor boy, whrn he smiles and appears merry like in the pics from jan 1 people start saying he binged, when he is serious he is said to be depressed...

I really don't know what the fuss is if someone says the Crown prince looks under the weather. If I had a cold and runny eyes and blocked nose, whats the big deal?

No big deal for me - I just didn't think he looked very different from what he normally does. And he may be under the weather, it is the season for that.
Was just trying to tell what I personally find funny; that if the media cannot trace Frederik every minute right now, the frenzy seems to start.

And here is a clip from BT:
- BT TV - BT.dk
This is the court for the diplomatic corps, which took place at Christiansborg, the Parliament.
I've seen QMII's gown before.
Prince Henrik is wearing the gala uniform of a general in the army.
Frederik as usual is wearing the gala uniform of the navy.
Frederik's adjutant (seen walking behind Frederik) is wearing the gala uniform of the airforce.

many thanks for the link.
i reckon it should be pretty boring standing in line and shaking hands with all the diplomats...not a official duty i would look forward to...
if you don't mind, i have some questions:
how come frederik always wears the navy uniform? does he have special links with the navy sector of the danish army or... as you yourself wrote yesterday, it has been chosen bc it is the coolest uniform of the lot ?
how come joachim and marie do not attend this event?

Come on, FasterB & Sternchen It's a dress, what do I know about dresses?
Frederik has a pretty close association to the navy. Partly through his grandfather Frederik IX, whom he resemble so much. Frederik IX was known as the Sailor King, and with good reason.
Also, Frederik served in the navy onboard a patrol frigate in the North Atlantic.
He also served in the Frogman Corps, which belongs to the navy.
On top of that he is pretty fond of the sea and sailing.
And as you point out, the navy uniform is the smartest looking. - It can certainly make some of you drool heavily.

Duke of Marmelade
I have just seen live tv from the Galla from today. And CP Frederik looked happy and relaxed as always.
I know you are very glad to hear these happy tidings
