In order to get a better overview of where the various photo-ops took place, I've created this image:
https://app.box.com/s/gjyakdv9tgk743hfk06baxu648m7hm6g
Here you can see where M&F were seen on the bikes.
Where the stables are.
The ring rider procession.
The changing of the guards.
And today's official photo shoot.

I must say that it is surprising lo learn it. In truth, I did not pay close attention to the Danish family summer holiday. That is why Prince Joachim's absence stood out.

As usual, a nice photo session. These are the gardens designed by Queen Ingrid? They are very lush and green. QM and PH look refreshed and relaxed after their Greenland trip, although the dampness probably aggravated her osteoarthritis. Support is never far away, though.
Alexandra & Jefferson's children are looking quite grown up. Ingrid is beautiful (Danish genes, you know) and Richard is so tall. He was a page boy at F & M's wedding, now he's taller than Frederik!
Josephine's bruises are beginning to heal. Speaking of bruises, I wonder how Frederik got that black eye.
When you have a large extended family, it's hard to get everyone together. Remember, they were all together for Christmas, and I'm sure that took some doing! BTW, Christmas is 5 months from today.

Two videos :)
Sådan ser de royale ud - tvsyd.dk - TV SYD - Nyheder - Lokal - Sønderborg
Now our Crown Prince family have enjoyed more than three weeks in Gråsten.
But I wonder about if Frederik, Mary and children will say goodbye and thank you for this time today or tommorow? Tomorrow night, Margrethe will keep a reception. Margrethe, Henrik and Benedikte will participate. But not Frederik and Mary. Maybe they just don't attend or maybe it's soon time for heading home and spend the last weeks of the vacation in Copenhagen.
Frederik also takes a break from the holiday when he travels on a short buiness promotion trip and IOC meetings from the end of next week, before having a week left of the holiday with Mary and children when he comes home again.

Wow, Margrethe looks really frail, I wouldn't be surprised if F&M became the next CP couple stepping up to Kings.
Regarding J&M absence: Isnt Joachim a full time royal now? He should have made some effort, been there.

She's chain smoking even during the photocall so no surprise that she looks much older than her age, I guess F&M will work a lot more still its not good to see a Head of State looking this way.

I don't know if I'm just being oblivious here but I don't see that QMII is looking any more frail now than earlier this year? I definitely see that she's struggling with the osteoarthritis, but in spite of that I think she looks really good – especially and surprisingly so for a 75-year old who has just finished a two-week long visit to Greenland.
About Joachim, I agree, he should have made an effort to be there. Them skipping it this year is just as ridiculous as the year when Mary and Frederik got delayed in traffic. It's a scheduled photocall and one of very few scheduled events a year. It wouldn't have killed them to work their holiday around the photocall – especially not if they're going to Gråsten anyway.

I've thought she has looked pretty bad for the past year or so, or even a bit longer than that.

I wonder how much of an effect, if any, the last 'I should of have been titled "King Henrik" ' episode has had on her? I know he's done it over the years, but this last one seemed different to me.

It's funny because I personally thought that of the two events at Gråsten, she looked the best at the changing of the guards. I suppose it's in the eye of the beholder.
On the subject of QMII and Henrik's health, QMII was asked about it when they were in Greenland and said: "The problem is that currently, my husband can't walk fast and I can't walk slow. So we're not a perfect match right now." – that made Henrik laugh

I always look forward to the Grasten photoshoots. The photos from this year's were great, thank you to everyone who provided the photos and videos.
Poor little Josephine, I agree it looks as if she had a nasty fall. I'm glad that she is dealing with it well and that she had a quick recovery. It's sweet how her family signed her sling. Vincent is starting to look a lot like Frederik.
I always like how they include Princess Benedikte's grandchildren in the photoshoots. Countess Ingrid is looking so grown up! And Isabella looks like she's getting quite tall as well - she's almost up to Mary's shoulder. I agree with those who have said it was a disappointment to see that Joachim and his family were absent.

If the Queen wants them there they will be there. I doubt Joachim can just decide to attend or not. It may be more than a coincidence that the Crown Prince and his family are the only immediate family there.

Crown Princess Mary steals the spotlight during royal family portrait | Daily Mail Online
From Daily Mail.
A remarkable sudden interest in Joachim and Marie I'd say...
Often when J&M have a solo summer photo shoot with their children they are accused of being attention seeking. Now when they for once didn't show up, that's bad as well.
Anyway, the press tend to focus on M&F's children, while J&M's children get a very limited coverage and the Berleburg children are virtually ignored.
There could be loads of reasons why they didn't show up. Anything from a delayed flight (The weather was bad, remember) to a hotel booking that couldn't be changed.
If they don't show up next year, then we can talk about a changing pattern.
ADDED: Mary's fashion from Royalista: http://royalista.com/112145/3-great-...-summer-looks/

Another nice gallery, though the caption "Un dimanche à la campagne/A Sunday in the country" is not quite correct - it's been a Saturday
