Thanks Roskilde.
I could hear our reporter, the Ulrik Ulriksen, say that M&F came straight from a holiday in Skagen.
It's a peculiar fact that the Copenhagen jet-set each year migrate from their natural habitat north of Copenhagen to the town of Skagen. - Where they mingle with the very same people they mingle with on a daily basis... - while the locals look on with considerable amusement.
The phenomenon is in Skagen called Hellerupugen = the Hellerup-week = Hellerup being a posh part of Copenhagen.
----------------------
Summary of article in Billed Bladet #30, 2014.
Written by Annelise Weimann.
Some days prior to all this the Regent Couple arrived at Gråsten and QMII met her younger sisters and as usual the locals came them a fond welcome.
This year that included no less than 274 mounted ring-riders (*) and additional 89 ring-riders on bicycles. Mostly children and youths.
According to tradition those among the riders who wish to present QMII with flowers break out of the procession and rides over to the Queen and presents them. - QMII said: "Thank you" a lot that day! - But PH whose popularity is high also got a bouquet.
QMII wore a dress even I recognice and which she has been wearing for years. A dress with a nautical pattern. She also wore a nautical necklace, but more on that in the jewel thread.
A huge pink teddy-bear also showed up to present flowers. Inside was a guy named Nicolai, who in this was won a bet with his niece.
(The poor guy must have lost at least five kilos from perspiration! So whatever he won, he sure deserved it)!
Ringridning = Ring-riding - is a very Southern Jutlandic phenomenon. It's basically lanser training. The point is to ride (or cycle) towards a ring suspended in the air, a ring not much larger than wedding ring.
And then at a certain speed mind you, put the tip of your lance through the ring. - And no, it's not easy!

Thanks everyone for the photos and videos! I always look forward to the summer photo call. It's lovely to see the DRF enjoying themselves together. All the children have grown up a lot. Josephine's cup cake dress is so sweet! I loved it when Vincent sat on the fence and then Isabella did too in the BB video. Were they watching the guards at that point?
I don't have a favourite photo yet, although I really like the one of Christian and Grandpa Henrik. You can clearly see that they're very close, which is lovely.

what the names on the two blond children?

They are (I assume) Count Richard and Countess Ingrid von Pfeil und Klein-Ellguth, the son and daughter of Count Jefferson von Pfeil und Klein-Ellguth, who himself is the son-in-law of Princess Benedikte, Queen Margrethe's sister.

Do notice Nikolai's slick hairstyle He wan't us to you know...
He's reached the age where he pays a lot of attention to his appearance, not least his hair.
Got one here at home going through what can only be described as (lengthy) grooming ritual, not routine, ritual, in front of the mirror each morning.
As for Mary's dress, well, it ain't worse than the burkini Frederik wore at the beach recently.

Lovely pictures, although everyone looks quite warm. You can tell the children have been in the sun a lot lately - Vincent's hair is blonder than usual.
Weren't Count Richard and Nikolai the little pageboys at Frederik and Mary's wedding? Time flies!
Looks like Frederik took a holiday from shaving

I know I wrote a summary of this article and posted it here on TRF somewhere.
That must have been in August 2012.
We may expect Josephine and Athena to get a similar bracelet when they are old enough, since this is a family tradition.

The photos are lovely - although I do wonder what in the world Mary is wearing? If Ma Ingalls had lived in the 1960's, that's what she'd put on.

The DRF went to Legoland today and here is what I believe is the first pic, of Mary and Josephine, so many more pics will follow shortly no doubt: Fuld fart på de royale børn i Legoland | Billed Bladet
Alas, bette Henrik and Athena were not there, but Nikolai and Felix were and they competed with farbror (paternal uncle) Frederik - and won!
