Hooray! She wore a bright colour again! She looks so much better in bright colours, and yet seems to have a wardrobe that consists mainly of black and grey.

I'm not sure if this is supposed to go here or in the current events thread, but, as this is her specifically as patron of the choir, here's a video of her at the recent summer concert in Tivoli: HER&NU :: Alaxendra møder pigekoret i Tivoli

I have to say, I much preferred the outfit at the Christmas concert to the one at the summer concert.

Alexandra will be accompanying the choir on their tour to USA and Canada in August. It is a 13 day tour and she will be with them for the first five days.

Alex og Martin: Stadig som nyforelskede - MSN Starlounge

Alexandra attended the Girls' Choir Birthday Concert to celebrate its 70th anniversary. The article says that she was apparently very moved, and that the concert must have bought back memories for her of her wedding, as they were the same choir who sang for her then.

She made a short speech at the end thanking them for the concert and a fantastic year which has involved events such s their (11 day?) tour with her to the US and Canada.

Just one downside - what on earth is that on her legs!

This video was very cute. There were a couple of scenes where the girls were yawning and looking kind of bored. Alexandra looked lovely as always. What was being said in the video? It looked like Alexandra was addressing the children. Does anyone know what she was saying?

I think that was the speech when she was thanking them all for a fantastic year etc (she visited Canada and the US with them as well this year).

There's an article here about it:
Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune: Lyngby-Taarbæk UNICEF By 2009 åbnet

If you don't speak Danish, there's a translation here:
http://gramtrans.com/gt/url/?url=htt...=translate_url

There's another article here:
Translated version of http://www.unicefby.ltk.dk/composite-7702.htm
UNICEF By åbnet 25. januar (Danish)

Does anybody know if Alexandra celebrates the Chinese New Year/Spring Festival?

I would assume because he's a mayor - that's what our Mayors/Lord Mayors(in my city) wear here in the UK too for events like this - ours even wore his full robes and everything for handing out awards at a local school!

I can confirme that the same thing goes for Mayors in the Danish cities.

I have never seen a Danish Mayor in full robe. I don't even think they have full robes.

Thanks Lilla - I have to admit, I was surprised by the question; I'd never really thought that Mayors in other countries wouldn't have these markers of their office.

Unicef Danmark - Lyngby-Taarbæk er UNICEF By 2009
There is an article here from the UNICEF Denmark website about the inauguration; it says that the local authority's citizens, societies and organisations are going to collect for UNICEF's school project in Madagascar .
Alexandra stood at the head of the festive opening, attending the New Year concert in the Kulturhus, where the logo of the UNICEF city was also unveiled.

Her og Nu has a negative story about Alexandra and how she misses life as a Princess and wishes to still be treated as a member of the royal family. This story has probably arisen out of the stories about Alexandra and the Queen, at the opening of the concert hall.

Thank you, Alex001 and Lilla! In the US, our mayors don't have any sort of regalia that they wear during events. I think that they should have something like a robe or medallion, but for whatever reason, they don't.
