You've summed up my thoughts exactly.
Just to add - I think this arrangement suits Albert and Charlene, I really wonder what his sisters make of it.

P Albert has said even before their wedding that his wife would not be expected to fulfill the traditional role of a Princess. Maybe this is what he meant. I do believe there must be a good reason for P Charlene's absence from the Fete Dieu.

It reallt shows how low the bar has been set, if we can discuss Charlene's no-show that actual "current events". I am really dissapointed and disechanted with her. Of course I have my opinions about the matter, but it would be no use to discuss them, not only because it would most likely be speculation, but because it won't change Charlene's attitude anytime soon.

Princess Charlene was ill and could not attend the Fete Dieu procession, but she visited the handicaped people last saturday , With Albert she received the people at the gala at the palace and she was present to the Grand Prix.
There is the article in monaco Matin about the next christening of the most big cruise ship in the world by Princess Charlene which will be the godmother of this big ship.

I've come to the conclusion that illness is just a pitiful excuse... It can't be believable that every time Charlene misses important event it's because she is feeling unwell... I'm sorry.

I think that there is too much speculation about Charlene. Her absence was due to illness. That's it. She knows exactly what her duties are. Apart from that as an athlete she was certainly trained to fulfill her obligations.

princess Charlene visited the maternity for the motherday, There is a report on monaco Channel, I hope we will have some photos of this visit .
Yes, Noda, I hear also a rumor , a good rumor that we cannot tell here because it would be deleted.
The person who said me that she was ill, is not a liar , he is handicaped and he was hoping to see the princess with Albert as the last year, after the visit of the couple, he was very happy to see her. but this last week, she draw the hens of the rugby for the rugby events, ( she is the president of the honor comittee) , she visited the handicaped people on the Grand Prix, she received with Albert all the sportpeople , singers and important people at the reception at the palace and she was present to the grand Prix. and she visited the maternity for the mother day.
very busy days she was everywhere apart the fete dieu procession , she was ill.
Here is the article about the visit of P Charlene at the maternity , the photo is on the front page, hope we will have other photos

Princess Charlene Current Events - Part 2: January 2014 -
On an entirely different note... I recently attended an event in Singapore and my hosts (Van Cleef & Arpels) had arranged for the most spectacular bouquet of flowers to be placed in my hotel suite. It included the most beautiful and fragrant roses I have ever seen/smelled. After some enquiries I established that it was the Princess Charléne of Monaco Rose, imported from the Tambuzi Farm in Kenya: http://www.tambuzi.co.ke/news/tambuz...o#.V0rfoMgbnCQ
PS: At first I thought they were peonies, but I guess it's a new varietal... A cross of sorts.

Thank you this post. I will be looking to find the variety. Love that there's a beautiful fragrance.
P.S. And love the 'little surprise' hinted at elsewhere. Charming.

Yes melina p, the Palace is very selective as to what they post on their site. It is sad, because it creates an impression that P Charlene does not do much. But behind the scenes it seems that she is quite busy. The visit to the handicapped people at the weekend's GP, the time just before Christmas last year when she gave gifts to Red Cross homes and underprivileged individuals and a visit to a retirement village where she took the twins as well come to mind. These are all humanitarian events that show her interest and involvement with "ordinary people". Why these events are not covered? I'm not sure, unless she herself prefers it that way...

You are right C4A, and it is surprising, She was very present this last week with the Grand Prix and the receptions around this big event in Monaco, but she had also two social events as the visit to the handicaped persons last saturday and the visit to the maternity yesterday afternoon, I don't think she wants that the events are not covered , I think that the team of communicationi is nulle.
