What is fabulous? The diadem? On itself it is a pretty mediocre design, if you ask me. Not the highest art of craftmanship was required nor has it interesting stones. The great thing is that finally the Princess of Monaco has worn a diadem once, be it just for a photo shoot, but that is it.
I know that taste is in the eye of the beholder. I think this diadem will have two large camps of likers and dislikers.

Duc_et_Pair, she also wore the Sea Foam Tiara at her wedding gala.

I think it's an exquisite piece and beautifully crafted. But I would have preferred it worn for the first time at an official event. She's so beautiful and it suits her. This cover is so-so. I'm just happy to finally see it on her head!

I am disappointed that Charlene has chosen a celebrity magazine for the first proper glimpse of this tiara ( I know she has previously worn it as a necklace). I agree that the shot does nothing to enhance her status as Princess of Monaco.

I don't recall that she wore it for the wedding gala. Did I miss something? As far as I know, this is the first time I have seen her wear her diadem.

I think she looks gorgeous in it, absolutely stunning as she usually is. But I do wish she had permitted the Palais Princier to issue formal photographs of her wearing the Ocean Tiara situated in the Throne Room or another of the beautiful rooms in the palace. Her birthday in January would have been the perfect occasion.

Love the hairstyle, the makeup is wonderful and the tiara is epic. I see nothing wrong with the photo and since the tiara is hers, it is her choice as to when and where she wears it.
Actually, I think it is a perfectly splendid photo.

She is lovely - her skin is just spectacular.
And since she and Hola have served up lemonade, I refuse to try to make it into lemons.

i like this picture, and i'm glad to see charlene with a tiara :)
i find the ocean tiara a bit too busy, but it suits her beautifully as charlene is quite a classical beauty... so it doesn't look like too much on her.
i hope she takes pleasure now in using tiaras and we see her more and more with one... she would look ravishing!

I regard de Sea Foam more as a hairpiece, a modern aigrette, than a diadem, to be honest. That was a succes by the way, I liked it in combination with the hairdo.

She wore it as a necklace on August 15, 2011. See the link; scroll down a bit. Lamutamu.com – For Everything Exotic.
She's wearing it as a tiara on this link ; second row, far right: Princess Charlene of Monaco on Pinterest
As for the Hola cover; it's one of the pictures where the line between "royal" and "celebrity" has become so fine you need a magnifying glass to see it. I'm not sure I like the trend at all.

Magazines such as LIFE, LOOK,SATURDAY EVENING POST etc are no longer in print. Princess Grace frequently had cover stories for these magazines. Magazines these days are mostly celebrity magazines. Even VANITY FAIR has celebrity stories and covers to compete with the usual celebrity ones.

It's not obvious to me that it's photoshopped. It looks just as (un)natural as the Hola cover!- Here's another:

Obvious or not-obvious, the picture is photoshopped indeed, the tiara is too large and looks too bright. The Hola! cover was the first time that this tiara was seen in public as a tiara. The photo used seems to come from her civil wedding, where she had simular earrings, hair & make-up.
--
The pictures of the princess of Monaco are rather glamourous, model-ish etc. indeed. But since she is the princess of Monaco you might say that it comes with the title. I usually hate it when royals pose for glamour/fashion magazines but in Charlene's case (and only in Charlene's case) it makes sense. As the appeal of Monaco is the glamour, casino's, parties, the jetset, and that is the way how the Grimaldi's present themselves. I am quite sure that they would have a very different PR strategy when they would be ruling over the Isle of Man.
I had my doubts about this particular tiara before. I didn't know if I should love it or hate it. But on these pictures I dislike it immensely. It looks like a fake rhinestone tiara. Partly due to the styling (the tiara is used as a headband), partly due to the photographer (the muted colours used take away all lustre from the stones) and partly due to the design (the base on which the circles rest seems too small for the tiara).
However I think that the tiara will look different when seen in real life. So I will hold my judgement until then, but for now I very much prefer the Foam-hairpiece. I am surprised to see the tiara at all btw, I thought it was just a PR deal between the Grimaldi's and the jeweller.

I fail to see wat is "epic" about that diadem but I acknowledge that taste is in the eye of the beholder. Of course there is nothing wrong with the photo's, I fully agree with you on that. I think the photo's are quite professional and well-made.
What is wrong is the image which these photo's generate. They do nothing to frame the former swimmer Charlene Wittstock for once and for all as Son Altesse Sérénissime la Princesse de Monaco. Charlène, the palais princier and Hola! could have taken this opportunity to make for once and for all clear that she is THE Princess of Monaco, the Première Dame of the principality and no one else. Instead they have totally missed the opportunity and shot the ball aside the wide open goalpost. Now we see a photoshoot with Gwyneth Paltrow, pardon Natalie Portman, eh... who's that blonde here?

As KityAtlanta, I love the hairstyle, the make up, Charlene is stunning and it is her tiara, she could wear it as she wants.
Palace of Monaco gave her agrements for this interview and for these photos.
As use many persons here jump on photo to critic charlene . All the prinesses and the queens are photoshopped.
For me a princess is not a person who wears tiara, for me it is a work , it is giving to the persons who need to live
I found these photos wonderfull and what she is saying in the interview is more important that woring a tiara.
Other photos in the newspaper, Charlene is wonderful

How to you connect 'princess' and 'work' with the Hola! frontcover photo giving the image of someone just getting out of bed?
