This fiction that royals seem to like to press always amuses me. It's like with Princess Anne's children. Because of the discriminatory rule in that country, the monarch's daughter's children do not inherit the HRH style from their mother, and officially deemed not "royal". They are, however, still the monarch's grandchildren, and bear as much royal blood as Anne's brothers' children, and people are as interested in them as they are in their first cousins (though, admittedly, their "non-royal" status does protect them from the most extreme levels of "interest", so that's a plus for them.)

Similarly, Charlotte is the ruler's niece, and she is "royal" whatever the rules dictate. People are interested in her and her condition and will continue to speculate. Wouldn't it have been better to make a brief declaration at an early stage rather than have all this speculation and interest in her shape fester? There is no reason why a statements of this sort cannot be made about private persons.

Princess Caroline of Monoco is gearing up for the wedding of her son Andrea Casiraghi to South American heiress Tatiana Santo Domingo at the end of the month.

But it seems that the family have more than one thing to celebrate as Andrea's sister Charlotte Casiraghi is also reportedly engaged and expecting her first child.

The 27-year-old is expected to tie the knot with her actor beau Gad Elmaleh before Christmas this year, according to reports.

There is a caption under a photo of what I noticed weeks ago that she is wearing a band that to me is more like a wedding band than an engagement ring which made me wondered if they had married in April when the Palace was closed to the public. Good luck to them.

The same thought had already crossed my mind, as i've also noticed that « strange » ring on her finger in the last pictures of her, taken these past weeks... Although it's my believe that if she had already got married, as private and « secrete » the event might have been, we'd had already heard something about it... There's always someone who starts a rumor, a paparazzo who follows that rumor... rumors multiply... and one day that rumor turns into an unavoidable, undeniable fact...

I do wonder how the family is dealing with the pregnancy situation? I wonder if Gad liked by Caroline and the family? Nothing worse than your child going half on a baby with a person you really don't like or think wouldn't be good for them.

More than half way point, I would say. I cant imagine why they would not announce a marriage. Especially because at this point, this kid is the eventual heir if it's born legitimate.

It doesn't have to be born "legitimate", it can be legitimized at any time during its life simply by Gad and Charlotte getting married. If Andrea and Tatiana marry at the end of the month as is rumoured their son Sacha will be legitimized.

Call me old fashion, I am not a prude, but whatever happened to getting married first? Like the old nursery rhyme: first came love, then came marriage, then came baby in a baby carriage.
I know a lot of people will think I am judging but seriously I'm not, I just personally think it is better to be married first, accidents happen, so I understand that but in todays world, birth control is available but Monaco seems to not carry any.

Not everyone believes in marriage. In a world where 50% of marriages end in divorce, more and more young people are subscribing to the belief that marriage is a ridiculous, out dated notion. They don't believe that they need a piece of paper to to prove their love.

As for "accidents happen" we have no reason to believe that Charlotte's pregnancy (or Sacha for that matter) was an accident. It could be that they want a child more than they want a marriage. I can see some of the advantage of having illegitimate children in a royal family - it can be a way of going "you know, I don't really care for my child to one day be the head of state." There's a lot less pressure on Stephanie's youngest (illegitimate) child in terms of life than there are on the legitimate descendants of Rainier and Grace.

As Charlotte was in a longterm relationship (and Andrea and Tatiana have been together a long time) before Gad I'd think the birth control worked fine up until now.
