Märtha got Tsjekhov part
Princess Märtha Louise and Åsne Seierstad snatched the main parts in “Emotions on the sea side’s” Tsjekhov production. “I didn’t know anything” says partner Ari Behn.
Ari Behn says to VG that he was very surprised when he realised that his mother, Åsne Seierstad and his wife had signed up for audition for “Emotions on the sea side’s” amateur theatre production of Anton Tsjekhov’s “33 Faintings”.
Finishes up Sunday
It was Behn and Harald Zwart’s idea that the festival should end with an amateur production where the festival guests could have the opportunity to play. The director is Eugene Lazarev, which is a drama teacher and has worked a lot with Zwart. Amongst others did he have a large role in the movie “Hamilton”.
Amateur joys
It is therefore ready for both Princess Märtha and Åsne Seierstad’s theatrical debut. Around 20 persons showed up for audition, the newspaper reports.
“33 Faintings” is a row of short stories. Märtha is participating in “Marriage Proposals”, while Seierstad is playing in “The Bear”. Ari Behn is not participating, even though he has a mini part in the movie “Tommy’s inferno”. Movie maker Harald Zwart keeps his distance.
A question: since Martha Louise has married a commoner, has she still the title of Princess? When she got married I read on Italian mags that she would have lost it, but I have noticed that you call her Princess...

She didn't loose her princess title when she married Ari Behn (this has been so since King Haralds sisters married commoners as well, and they kept their princess title in addition to their husbands sir names).
But when she started her own company (about the same time as she married) she gave up her right to the throne and thus is not a part of the official royal family but she is of course part of the private family!! Meaning that she has to pay income tax, she lost her state alowance, and she has the right to vote in elections, and she doesn't have to participate in offical engagements such as state visits and she isn't to be seen on the balcony at 17th of May (she didn't participate in the Japanese state visit earlier as far as I know).
She still is patron to organizations and represent but just when necessary (i.e. when the king was ill). Basically, she went from being a super-active member of the royal family to be a bit more passive one. She has a more private life (if a celebreties have that ).
Did this make sense?? I think it's about the same that Prince Johan Friso of the Netherlands did when he married Mabel.
Märtha did not give up her right to the throne, she is still third in line after Haakon and Ingrid, her daughters are also in line. She only gave up her HRH, that is also the same as happened with Princess Ragnhild and Astrid when they married the only difference is that Märtha is not Fru (mrs) Behn
