Harald of Norway comes to Majorca of vacations and, with the winter clothes, also one takes the wreath. Surrounded with a court of escorts of Cyclopean size and origin vikinga, he gets confused between his disguised with a spoiled pole and a trousers bermuda of do six seasons. When someone warns his presence camouflaged in the landscape, behind a cervecita who relieves him the stifling evening, in a summer terrace close to the sailboats, one seems to be surprised to wake up so much some interest, which nobody would say that in Norway he shows the maximum representative function.
He wants to be one more, for very difficultly that it proves. In spite of the problems of heart that has suffered this winter, very serious ailments, he has not wanted to be absent to his appointment with Majorca and with the ditches, though he is like spectator. His sailboat, the Fram, with which it honours the adventurer Amundsen without too much luck, is inscribed in the Glass of the King, but not patroneará he, but his son, the prince Hakoon, who will visit the island in these dates.

Lent the King the car for free The government asks firms and private persons for help to provide fancy enough cars during royal visits.
Taxi owner Ola Waagen (50) is amongst those who have had King Harald in his private car. The man from Steinkjer lent this weekend his 3 year old Toyota Camry to the King and Queen for free, when they were in Nord-Trøndelag county on an official visit.
“Isn’t it great that the Palace is so common that you can do such a thing?” asks a proud Waagen. VG has been in contact with the counties around the country. With a few exeptions where the Police has their own car for representation, the government borrow cars when they have visitors from the royals. And the car owners isn’t always payed.
"I’ve helped provide cars from car dealers and private persons. Most often we don’t have to pay. This way the hosts doesn’t have extra expences” says county chief (in want of a better translation, he/she representative of the government at county level) Ottar Befring at Møre og Romsdal county to VG.
Great joy
Taxi-owner Ola Waagen thought it was a great joy when the chief of the local car rental firm contacted him and wondered if they could borrow his Toyota. The car rental firm had gotten the assignement from the county chief to provide a car for King Harald. “I wan’t promised pay, and didn’t demand it either. I think it was just fun to contribute” says Waagen.
The car rental firm will neither demand pay from the county chief. “When the King is such an common person, that we couldn’t be less common. We therefore asked Ola, who has a really nice car. We haven’t charged it, this is a gesture from us” tells Steinar Vesterdal at Hertz car rental in Steinkjer.
Municipality direktor (direktør) Roald Huseth at the county chief in Nord-Trøndelag county knows that they don’t have cars that is good enough for royal visits. “We therefore rent nicer cars to such occasions.” “Do you pay rent?” “I suppose so” says Huseth. In Troms county Police chief Truls Fyhn has a fancy car which is used during royal visits. “We have a Volvo we use” tells Fyhn. Similar arrangements does Sør-Trøndelag and Vest-Agder counties have too.
”The Police chief has a car which has been bought just for such occasions” tells assisting county chief Odd Inge Mjøen in Sør-Trøndelag county. During larger official royal visits the Palace provides their own cars. “It is the county chief along with the local police has the responsibility to provide a cortage (kortesje) of cars during official visits” tells information advisor Sven Gj. Gjeruldsen at the Palace.
