If I recall what was written on kongehuset.no calendar prior to a couple of hours ago, Mette-Marit was originally scheduled to attend this. I remember thinking that her first engagement wasn't until the 17th and we wouldn't even get pictures!

Well, hopefully we'll see her on the 28th.

1. That's correct, yes! - But as I wrote in ''The General News and Information for The NRF'' thread, her attendance at royal engagements will be based on her day-to-day form.
Which is why the court (to avoid speculation if she has to cancel) usually waits until just minutes before large-scale events to add her to the official calendar, such as they did for The Nobel Peace Prize celebrations back in December.

2. And when it comes to the board meeting of The CP-Couple's Foundation on January 28th: Well, we probably won't see her anyway, since it will most likely take place at either The Royal Palace or at Skaugum, where photographers are never allowed inside for events such as this.
Although, the court (or the foundation) can publish a photo of it on Instagram, as they did for the Official luncheon for The Supreme Court on January 17th and The Prime Minister's audience with The King today. - But with the exception of two or three times, they usually don't do so for a Foundation-meeting.

Thanks Iceflower!

That's actually the first time the court has shared a photo of the PM having an audience with The King.

Well, our sports-mad King has attended the first of his two day-stay at The Norwegian Championships in Cross-country skiing (the biggest sport in Norway) at Grova Ski-Center today, which is situated in Meråker municipality (link to English Wikipedia article) in Trøndelag county (link to English Wikipedia article) in Central Norway (link to English Wikipedia article).

It was televised by NRK1 (the state-owned Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's and Norway's largest TV-channel) from 10:00 to 11:15 (for the female competitors) and from 12:45 to 14:45 (for the male competitors).

And the charismatic 81-year-old folksy monarch was in great spirit as usual, hugging the winners and everything. - If the photos (which will be added as they are published by Scanpix) don't show, click on them more than once:

Arriving at the Ski-Center (his first official visit to Meråker BTW), where he was greeted by The President of the Norwegian Ski Federation, Erik Røste; Committee Chair in this year's Championships, Bjørg Sissel Kvannli and two children who were picked out to give him flowers:

With the male winner, Emil Iversen:

He looks like he's having a lot of fun. I love the photos the Court posted on Instagram with him and winners.

(I do have to say, I'm quite disappointed no one in the family attended the speed skating championships happening in Hamar. This is only because my Canadians are doing quite well! )

Thanks Iceflower & Eya!

And yes, from competing as single competitors yesterday to relay teams today.

Televised by NRK1 from 10:55 to 12:00 (for the females) and from 12:15 to 14:25 (for the males).

And The King seemed to have another fun day out in the cold. - If these additional photos don't show, click on them more than once:

With the female winner-team, Oppdal IL:
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td915f66
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td915fd1
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td916060
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td915fcc

With the male winner-team, Lyn:
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td916bc5
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td916bc9
https://scanpix.no/spWebApp/preview/editorial/td916c1d

And now this ''amazing'' monarch of ours (due to a whole bunch of reasons, which I've written about in various threads here over the years) can take a well-deserved break until February 5th, when he will have another engagement outside The Royal Palace.
