I know we do discuss Mette-Marit's outfits quite a lot... but there's just something about Haakon's in the last pictures. I wish he would wear bunad more often. Of course he has to be impartial, but still.

Guys in Norwegian National Costumes are... well, hot, in my opinion.

Mette-Marit should have worn her costume as well, though they wouldn't have matched.

Yes, Haakon looks great in a bunad. Why don't we start a thread on Norwegian Royals wearing bunads. What do you think norwegianne? In the main forum so that we could include everyone?

Did Mette-Marit cut her hair? It looks much shorter to me.

Maybe it's the way it's curled and styled....

Thank you for posting the pictures

Yes she has cut it, but why oh why did she not colour her roots when she was at the hairdresser in the first place?:( And I see as soon as she left Thailand she left all colour behind and went for grey and a black turtle neck...

She does look quite lovely with shorter hair. More coiffed. Except for the roots. I agree she should have colored them.

Maybe she's returning to her natural hair color?

I really like her shorter hair. In one of the pictures, she reminded me a little bit of Mathilde.

I think that she is one of those women who just get prettier with age.

I absolutely love MM's new hairdo. I agree though she should color the roots.

The Crown Princely Couple Awared with the Tolerance Prize - 2004

Tolerance prize to Crown Prince Couple

Carin Pettersson 07.12.04 13:00

Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, were awarded the Toleranseprisen for 2004, for showing tolerance and respect for all people.

According to the statement the Crown Prince Couple were awarded the prize because they «indicate in words, attitudes, and actions that they want a society that is accepting and including, where all people are seen and respected.»

The prize is awarded by Stortinget’s presselosje, the political press lodge, established in 1987 by a monetary donation by the former president of the Storting, Jo Benkow.

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit are praised for their «impressive efforts» to follow the tradition which was started by King Haakon, continued by King Olav and King Harald.

«The Crown Prince Couple have proved that they are a part of the times, have abilities and see the challenges we face in the future. The couple are seen as modern, socially ware, and tolerant people, who have adopted some of the best humanitarian values in the Norwegian society.»

Thanks Larzen. Bright red, my favourite colour... it's very Christmas-like. I like the drawing too.

Pics from Colourpress...

The caption:

Prince Haakon and Princess Mette Marit were awarded the Tolerance Prize by the press chapter of the Norwegian Parliament 'Stortinget'. The Crown Prince couple was honored because of their farsightedness and their humanity in accepting all kinds of people as they are and therefore should be taken as an example for the humanistic traditions in Norwegian society. The couple receieved the amount equal to 1300 Euros for their own humanitarian foundation and a painting by Norwegian artist Inge Groedum.

I agree norwegianne. I love Mette-Marit -- even on her bad days! I love her naturalness and how minimalistic her style and make up approach is.

But my little theory on Mette-Marit is that when she's good, she's very good. When she pulls out all the stops, Mette-Marit, in my books is by far the prettiest and most glamorous princess.
