Mette-Marit will have tomorrow an engagement (Visits the Church City Mission), and I found an old article with picture about her visit from 2009:

Kronprinsessen på bymisjonsrunde - KirkensBymisjon

And an other article from 2007 (I didn't know, that she is a director in this Mission):
"For many years I have in various ways been taking part in the important work of the Church City Mission does for many different groups. I look forward to working as a member of the board and want to actively contribute through my directorships."

Very nice picture of Mette-Marit in the second article, good to see her commtiment to do charity and get involved.
Which particular field (s) of social work does the Church City Mission work concentrate on?

They have an internetside, and there can you choose "Fields": for example "Children and young people" or "Poverty" or "Mental Health", etc. There can you read more about their work.

So today she visited the Church City Mission in Oslo, April 3, 2013.

When she left, a woman sold the magazine =Olso, and wondered if the Crown Princess would like to buy one (the idea behind the magazine is that the disadvantaged will be selling magazines, and half of the retail price is retained by the seller - CP Haakon has been on its cover at the Christmas edition 2008).
"How much does it cost?" asked Mette-Marit.
"As much as you want to give", smiled the street seller. The Crown Princess had no money, but borrowed some. Then the street magazine seller ended 250 kroner and a hug richer

See, that's one of the reasons I love Mette-Marit, regardless of all controversies and criticism. She is the real deal.
Such a nice story, thank you very much for posting it, fairy tale.

Oh,thank you very much.Of course I could have also engaged google, but I thought people here are so knowledgeable that they can tell me as well and also faster than me,looking up the charity organisation online:-)
Well,or maybe I was just a little bit lazy
Anyway,I think they are doing great work and I am looking forward to seeing CP Mette-Marit working for them and giving them support!
I also like the little anecdote about her buying that magazine from a poor person & giving a free hug,
she has such a warm & caring personality

Cool, nice to see her at work,Mette-Marit rocks!
She looks and sounds great in the video, only sad thing is that I don´t understand her language, but she has a pretty speaking voice.

Hey, I think the same about my favourite royals
I want then to do lots of work, interviews and photoshoots that I can see them very often...! We are so selfish
I think lots of Mette-Marit´s work is also behind curtains and not publicised-which is a good thing IMO as we have a saying in Austria: Do good deeds and don´t talk about it!
But a little bit of pictures, news, interviews etc is good-also because ppl want to see what they are doing and by showing pics, sending out press releases etc. the public knows what they are doing and that they are not sitting at home getting massaged by their wellness specialist or painting their nails...
The general public/taxpayer wants to be sure that the royals are working for their country!

I found an other forum where people can talk about royals, but there the people speak so ugly about Mette-Marit that I am surprised why they spend time with following, speaking and thinking about her, if they hate her so very much... They think that she is very lazy (and they have also many-many other problems with her), but I also think what you wrote, and I found this article, what mentioned that the royals (the norwegian) do the most work in the palace and the king works therefor so very much, that the CP-couple can spend the most time with her kids.
"...Royal Family's work spans wide, and much of the day is spent in the office at the Palace..."
"...King Harald work very much, and have well over 350 official engagements a year. And although it is perhaps natural that he steps down a bit, so there is nothing to suggest that the lusty king is very willing. He has stated numerous times that he wants the Crown Prince and Princess to get as much time with their children as possible..."

Tomorrow and on Wednesday CP Mette-Marit will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). The purpose is explained on the NRF-website:
"The MFA is the Royal Family's most important partner in the work that the Royal Family performs on behalf of Norway abroad. In addition, the Crown Princess has a substantial and long-standing international engagement. On this basis, the Crown Princess has a desire to become better acquainted with the various parts of MFA operations.
Tomorrow is the first of several days, and CP Mette-Marit will have talks with the Foreign Minister, participate in a commencement of the work on an official visit to Asia in 2014 and have a meeting on international health work."

I'm afraid that the most event won't be photographed for the public, so we won't see her more... I think she made such work also earlier, only the royalhouse didn't mentioned it. But now, that the CPs had again discussion about her role, work and person, so maybe the royalhouse changed the strategy and show/write on the webside what she makes in her working days.
