True, a newspaper said that at some points the Queen turned a bit emotional, when viewing her grandmothers paintings, drawings etc.
There was also a lovely picture in 'De Telegraaf' of Beatrix giving Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven a stroke/caress on the cheek :) The picture of the two of them holding hands is nice as well. I wonder why Margriet wasn't there, still ill or otherwise engaged (as she lives around the corner of the palace and would have attended for sure if she didn't have anything else going on).

Wow Maxie, you're the best! How did you manage that?

--

Is the lady on the 8th picture (in green with the small pearls), posted by fanletizia Mrs. José van den Broek-van Schendel, wife of former euro commissioner Hans van den Broek and mother of Princess Marilene?

--

I believe usually some of the Roosevelts attend as well, so I wonder if one (or more) of the gentlemen on the pictures are the grandson(s) of Franklin Delano and Eleanor?

I really liked Maxima's spring-y green coat and its beautiful white embroidery. I think I would have liked the coat to be knee-length though. And the white trimmed pockets could have been placed more strategically than on her hips. Did the coat look a little big on her? Nice shoes, (no t-straps) her legs look really good.

I also think she needs to wear less makeup. And/or get some facial treatments to help with the sun-damage spots and wrinkles.

I prefer her with her hair pulled back when she wears a hat. Loose it looks a little messy.

Beatrix, what was with the pattern? It looked like my grandmother's curtains! And the ruffle at the bottom did nothing as well

Does anyone have a copy of Maxima's speech?
