I know when WA is formally installed as monarch he will be wearing white tie, and that he has already given up all his military ranks, but when he is King of The Netherlands will he also be C in C of the armed forces and entitled to wear the uniform of General or Admiral on occassion?

Yes,he will at all appropiate ceremonies.

Apparently Dutch law does not allow a member of the military to also be a member of the government, and The King is a member of the government. WA will not be C in C or hold the ranks of Admiral or General but some new uniform without rank is being designed for him to wear on appropriate occassions.

Also,the Prince attended the last meeting of the Council of State as a Prince yesterday afternoon.He will be President of the Council of State as of april 30th.The Heir to the Dutch Throne becomes a Member of the Council at the age of 18.W-A attended many of the meetings since his 18th.

Crown Willem-Alexander has planted the first Koningslinde, a Tilia x europaea Pallida, in the Transvaalwijk in Den Haag today, April 23, 2013. The Koningslinde is planted to commemorate a new monarch.

Willem-Alexander today also attended the seminar "Should we stay or should we go? On the future of Europe and the Eurozone" in Den Haag. It was the farewell seminar of CPB director Coen Teulings.

On his 46th birtday, April 27, Crown Prince Willem-Alexander has inspected the guard of honour of the Royal Air Force at Eikenhorst for the last time. He was presented with a cheque for the Oranje Fonds.
