Maxima does look beautiful, but the hair is very Beatrix and I doubt it was good for the ozon layer Also the dress seems quite see trough to me in the PPE pictures. Ofcourse she is a picture of modesty next to the woman who is shuving her boobs in her face in the ANP pictures

I'm not a fan of that hairstyle either. I like the dress, but the hair can go. Maybe if she'd worn it half-up, half-down it would have looked better.

The name of that woman, is Carice van Houten, and I think she looks absolutely stunning!

40´s maybe? As the movie is about the WWII? Lovely earings btw, they seem to be new ones (though I doubt if she needs more pearl earings as there should be a pile of them in the vaults at Noordeinde).
Does anybody know where the premiere was held?

Indeed, the main actress could have covered it up a bit, but well...dutch glamour, enough said.

I noticed the earrings too, and wondered if they were a recent gift from the Japanese Family as part of a thank you for their time, there. Of course, there is no way to know, but the Japanese IF often wear pearls and diamonds.

This is the first time I see a picture of WA and his wife together and SHE looks older than him!! Weird. That hairdo and those heavily made up black eyes of hers make her look ten years older than she is. her dress is great though.
Still, she looks better than lead actress Carice van Houten. As you all can guess, I'm not a fan of people who shove their naked b**bs in someone else's face.
I think this was in the Hague, by the way, correct?

As for Maxima's outfit: not her best, not her worst. :)

The premiere was held at The Hague at the Pathe theatre.
I disagree with most of you on the hair. Yes, she may look older, but I think this style looks much better than when she has the hair hanging down, looking like she didn't style it at all...

Thanks Maxie, for clarifying that. I thought all premieres were held in tusshinsky (amsterdam) these days, and this was obviously not tuschinsky so I was wondering...
I don´t dislike the hair either, and as the theme is WWII/40´s I think it is a nice detail of Maxima to think about that.
BTW, the couple certainly knows how to light up a room! They are both oozing joy and happiness.

The hair style is quite terrible. Which is rather unusual, since till now I liked most of her up-dos and wasn't too keen on her "keeping it casual" styles.
However, this is neither 40's 50's nor 60's this is a complete waste of hairspray.
Heck if she keeps this up, the Benelux countries will almost singlehandedly be responsible for the killing of the ozon layer by way of hair spray, with Fabiola and Beatrix still leading the helmet hair crusade.
Anyway, Maxima's make-up also was a bit to dramatic and she looked quite hhm, old. But to end on a positive note, the dress was pretty nice and her smile just like that of her hubby quite bright.

This comment made me laugh .
I don't think her hairstyle is that bad! It's something new. I think she looks lovely with it. It fits to her outfit... So it's interesting to see her with a new hairdo she never tried before.

I think she looked lovely...and why does everyone keep saying she used tons of hairspray? You don't need cans of hairspray to make a hair-do stay in place...The only thing about the hair-do that I do object to is that it's a little on the puffy side, a little less volume and it would probably have been perfect.
I liked the dress....simple and elegant. The earrings are to die for!! I love them!

Larzen, thank you for the great black and white pictures. I get a bit of a Marlene Dietrich feeling over here.
Patrick, you did it again! Wonderful pictures, they're so great!

I really like her new hairdoss. I think the problem with it is that we aren't used to see her wearing it. Maxima and Willem looks always very well. They are a very nice royal couple.

I think the hairdo is too high, but i love the dress, she´s very elegant in it.
