My guess is that they don't need two estates in Italy because they're too busy to go to either very often.

I believe they are putting the estate up for sale because this was Prince Bernhard's wish before he died. The money from the sale of the property is to be divided equally among his six daughters.

Yes, that's right. Prince Bernhard thought that it would be easier to divide the estate he left if there was mostly money, which makes sense to me. But of course the house might have some personal attachments to the royals, as they surely have a lot of good memories from it.

I agree with you, too, and that has made me wonder how involved Claus was with his boys during their formative years. Does anyone know about that relationship? I did not follow Claus at all and it seemed that when I did read about him he was having health concerns. But he and Beatrix seem to have raised three fine boys.

as far as some dutch people told me she has a native level of dutch and practically no accent.
