I always like the Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder (Our Sweet Lord on the Attic). It was a hidden catholic church in Amsterdam as catholic places of worship were not allowed to be recognised as such until the Napoleontic times. So they converted the upper floors of a canal house to a church.

The queen looks lovely.

Looking at the official agenda of the King will go alone tomorrow in Brussels to visit the European Parliament. The Maxima would accompany him. I imagine the rest of the program will depend on how it is her health.

Queen Máxima has already cancelled her attendance in Brussels: she would escort the King on his official visit to the European institutions.
Remembrance Sunday requires no walking or something, just watching from the balcony. When Queen Máxima feels she can do it, I am sure she will. Yesterday the Queen seems to have been spotted walking on the royal domain surrounding their lush green private Villa De Eikenhorst.

Isn't the estate around the viila privately owned by the Orange Nassau family ? I would call it a family estate then rather than a royal estate.
As a matter of fact, it is rather embarrasing for the Kingdom of the Netherlands that W-A has been King for over two years now and he is still living with his wife and daughters in a private family villa. I'm pretty sure it is a lovely home, but it is not a suitable residence for a major European monarch like the Dutch King.

It is well known that Huis ten Bosch, the eventual (and former) residence of the Dutch Monarch, is under restoration. The King and his family will move in when it is ready.

The most used name is Koninklijk Landgoed De Horsten or Koninklijk Domein De Horsten, which translates as Royal Estate resp. Royal Domain.

After a renovation of the Oranjezaal between 2009 and 2011 (costs: 15 million Euro), the rest of Huis ten Bosch palace will be renovated (costs: 60 million Euro).
During the renovation the King uses Noordeinde Palace (rear view) in The Hague as his formal residence, the Royal Palace Amsterdam (recently completely renovated) and Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn for representation and he uses the hunting lodge Het Oude Loo as a weekend retreat.
For the King's pleasure temporarily housing (à raison of 400.000 Euro) has been placed in the park of the private villa, to house some staff from his secretariate, designed by Bierman Henket Architects. The picture shows a similar example of the same architect.

Why they keep receiving people at the Eikenhorst and why the king wan't there is a mystery to me. I thought they were just changing a few offices at Noordeinde, not renovating the entire building.
