Also,Indonesia´s national carrier Garuda was taken of the black list of airlines banned by the EU after improvement measures of the fleet.
Garuda will resume flying to Amsterdam on june 10th 2010 with brandnew airbus 330-200 aircraft, and the president has always stated he wishes to arrive here on board of an aircraft of his own national carrier. Now he can.

Are there any photos released of the Queen visiting the 100 year jubileum of the Frisian horses? Was supposed to be an amazing, emotional show. Queen Beatrix would sure enjoy that.

On 10/26/09 in Amsterdam Queen Beatrix attended the Global Assembly of the Club of Rome.
Theme of this year is ''Climate, Energy and Economic recuperatin’.

Here are some links courtsey of PPE

Not really one of my favorite outfits on the Queen, but she looks well, as usual.

Wow- the kids ARE really growing up- they look like regular New Yokers in these shots. Stephanie seems so relaxed and confident- motherhood really suits her!

Not really no,wednesday always is "Credential day".Pure coincidence.:)

The posts about Queen Beatrix and her family attending the opening of the Holland Dance Festival have been moved to this thread.

Her Majesty will attend the unique and one-time only performance of the play honouring her late husband Prince Claus;"Claus",
at the Royal Theatre Carré Amsterdam on december 6th.

The play highlights the late Prince's love for Africa,(he grew up in present day Tanzania) and his love for the Dutch Antilles and
Surinam and his involvement with development in the countries.

Most actors are MP's,policians like the mayor of Amsterdam,Job Cohen, and our present Finance Minister,Wouter Bos,ao.

I think it will be a very moving, and also at times very funny tribute to The Prince.

The "Farewell Monilogues" ,based on humoristic and touching stories on death by a cast of wellknown dutch journalists,actors,sportsmen-women,politicians etc etc.

Not only the decline of life, farewell and the afterlife gets attention, but also issues like fashion trivia and rituals in relation to death."Because you can also laugh about death and all the trivia surrounding it" according to the producer.

It is a wonderfull performance,a stimulance for those who participate in palliative care.A very admirable (allthough not to those involved as they find it comes only natural, and it does) and rewarding way to make the last months, weeks, days, hours and less more comfortable.

Really,I can only kindly ask all of you to try and get involved in palliative care as a volunteer or professional. You will find it very rewarding and often, unexpectedly, funny, very funny at times as death isn't always just a sad and scary affair. You can make a difference.

As for HM,she really just applauds palliative care knowing full well from her own experience how valuable and comforting that can be as she herself lost three of her most dear ones in such a short period of time. Her husband in october 2002 and then both her parents in march 2004 and december 2004.She knows from her own experience, she has lived it.

As she stated in a Christmas speech;" You see different through eyes that have cryed".

From Dutchnews.nl:

MP resigns after telling all about the queen

Thursday 19 November 2009
Liberal MP Arend Jan Boekestijn has resigned after giving reporters details about a confidential meeting between 50 MPs and queen Beatrix.
Boekestijn told RTL news the queen is concerned about many things happening in the Netherlands and Europe. When pressed for details, he said the queen was worried about the divide between voters and politicians and the 'hype culture' in parliament.

HM,accompanied by TRH Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien, will visit the performance "CLAUS" at
the Royal Theatre Carré,Amsterdam sunday december 6th.

This unique and one-time only tribute to the late Prince is completely sold out.It is not just about the history
of the Prince, but also about humanity, hope, disappointment, the search for love, his love for Africa and his bond
with the Netherlands Antilles and Surinam.

The cast consists for a large part out of present day politicians varying from the mayor of Amsterdam to members of Parliament.

I think it will be a worthy, fitting and very moving tribute to this great man.
