As you all can tell, I am new here. I am also somewhat new the whole "royal watcher" thing too. I've followed the British royals like most everyone else.
After spending the last couple of days on TRF, this is addictive, I have learned a lot about the other monarchies around the world. As of this moment, Queen Beatrix is my favorite royal. She appears to be so down to earth and warm and caring. Unlike her British counterpart, she even has a more relaxed hair style when she is with her family.
I'm so glad I found TRH.

This is an annual event on the beautiful Lange Voorhout avenue. The Queen always opens it. She was escorted by Silvia Toth (lady with the pillbox hat) and the other lady (with the small order on her outfit) is Maya Meijer, she organizes the event every year.

I love her suit. Thank you for posting the pics, Iceflower. And for your warm welcome.
I looked for books about Queen Beatrix at Barnes and Noble or Amazon and didn't find any. Any ideas of books I can buy about her or her family?

Queen Beatrix attended the opening of the new Louwman Museum in
Den Haag, July 2nd, 2010.
The car museum contains the private collection of Evert Louwman and
is a compelling picture of the possible development of the car since
1886. There are over 230 historic cars.
Lovely summer look the Queen was wearing!

Queen Beatrix was very elegant and nice to the players. It's nice that they receive the gratitude and consideration from their queen after a good result in a World Championship.

Totally agree with you, cristine! It's a really nice gesture that the
team was received at the palace. Judging from the pics I would
say that the Queen also enjoyed it, being surrounded by that many
young and sportive men..
Here's an additional gallery from ppe!
