The Queen mother of Bhutan looks so young. How old is she? I didn't know that Beatrix would be so close to her.

The queen mother was born on December 20th 1957, which makes her 52. Note that she is not the actual mother of the present king. The former king of Buthan married 4 sisters. The present king is the son of the eldest of the sisters who married the king.

So either the caption was wrong or all four of them are called
Queen Mother as they are all married with the former king..

Queen Beatrix reacted with 'ontzetting' (shock/horror), when she heard the news about the crash of an Airbus of Afriqiyah Airlines near Tripoli, Libya, this morning. 103 people died, 61 of whom were Dutch. The only survivor is one child, who is treated at a hospital in Tripoli.

Queen Beatrix today met the actors of the five-yearly cultural event
Passion Play, which was held in the open air De Doolhof theatre in
Tegelen, The Netherlands, 16 May 2010.
This year the play, which depicts the Easter story, took place for the
nineteenth time. The actors and actresses mostly come from Tegelen
and some from South Limburg and North Brabant.

Yes, she has several of these cape's with fur. The story goes that she saw them in a shop window of a shop in The Hague when she was on her carriage ride through the city at Prinsjesdag (opening of parlament), and the same day the court ordered several fo them in different colours. This was told in an interview by the parner of the man who owned the shop. The shop itself is now closed btw, but also Queen Juliana shopped there, as did much of the old money of The Hague.

Mee too, and Beatrix obviously enjoyed that visit. Here are
some additional pics from ppe - one dog is cuter than the
other, and they've been so excited..
As to the caption Queen Beatrix also handed out an award of
10.000 Euro to the winner of an art contest for visually handicapped
people.

the Nieuwe kerk in Amsterdam, May 28, 2010.
In this encyclopedia are over two thousand historical organs in chronological
