That's great news, Marengo! I was just thinking about going to Luxembourg for a day trip somewhere in the near future, but now they're coming over. Just kidding of course. I think this will be lovely! Hopefully we get to see some jewels!

Well, I lost my hopes on seeing the good jewels, somehow the dutch ladies select the oddest combinations at tiara events.

The athletes are mostly tired (according to themselves), but very happy as they received a warm welcome in The Hague, and a few days ago in Zwolle where a square filled with people were cheering them. They have to start in Calgary again in a few days btw.

Yes, Canadians are quite proud of Cindy Klassen. :) But I'm sure most of the speed skaters were wishing that they could be Dutch just for the moment that they were competing, because the Dutch spectators were so enthusiastic for their skaters. Unfortunately, speed skating is just not that popular in Canada, but maybe that will change now!
Yes, you have the right expression - about the Queen sitting on the tip/edge of her seat! Hope she didn't get too excited & forgetting that her knees aren't completely healed, jump up!

That is great news! I love state visits! But yes, as Marengo says, we probably won't see any stunning jewellry. I guess the most we can hope for is some fashionable gowns.

Yes, I know. *Sigh*
But let's keep our fingers crossed! Always look on the bright side etc. etc. I'm still hoping for them to pull out some jewelry... :) Beatrix doesn't like it, does she? Such a pity! :o

Wonderful pics Purple Platinum. It's so nice to see the Queen back! I guess by the end of the month, she'll be back into the full swing of royal engagements?

Welcome to the forum Rkoons. That's an interesting statement, but kind of vague. You might want to expand upon it if you wish to generate discussion.

I know I'm a bit behind time but it's good to see the Queen has recovered well. Not only that but, I daresay, she looks somewhat younger to me! No?
