March 1, 2005: Queen Beatrix unveiled the statue of Queen Anna Paulowna in her namesake village in the Netherlands. The bronze statue features Anna Paulowna on a horse, it was designed by Russian artist Alexander Taratynow.
Queen Anna Paulowna was the youngest daughter of Russian Tzar Paul I. She died on March 1, 1865.

Thank you! The Queen looks great & very joyfull. How strange btw, the queen went to visit a spring flower show, while outside it was snowing & snowing...never during her reign was there a day with more snowfall then yesterday.

Yes, she starts on her april 30th, Queensday, and she visits her own city, Den Haag, and The nearby village Scheveningen. After this she will visit all the provinces.
There will be a diner tonight, the queen offered this diner to the president of Chili.

Queen Beatrix attended the premiere of "A Song for Abigail at an American Evening at the Concertgebouw" by the John Adams Institute at the Royal Concert Hall. The John Adams Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing to bringing the best and brightest American writers, thinkers and public figures to audiences in The Netherlands to stimulate exchange and foster understanding.

Crown Prince Willem-Alexander is attending the funeral of Prince Rainier, one of the reasons being that the Crown Prince knows Prince Albert very well through their work with the International Olympic Commitee (IOC)
