I think Osipi meant that you had resurrected a much older thread. I don't think she meant it in a negative way, or at least I didn't see it as that.

To answer the original question; I would prefer to be a royal in the 1950s (particularly a Monegasque Royal), as there was no such thing as the internet, which would keep me satisfied as if I were royal, I'd probably be Googling myself all the time to see if there were any negative articles or comments about me. But I guess there were still newspapers and paparazzi… Who knows what monarchies and the whole concept of royalty will look like in 2050 (or as a much earlier poster said, if there will still be monarchies)? Unless someone here has a crystal ball, I doubt we will be able to tell.

After having visited Versailles a few weeks ago, I think it would have been interesting to be a female courtier for Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, or a female courtier for any French monarch around that sort of time. A female courtier during Charles II's time also sounds fun, and and female courtier in Tudor England or in the Italian renaissance would have been interesting as well, I would think.

In the more present era, I guess it would be interesting being a British Royal in the 1990s/1980s when we had 'The War of the Waleses' and Diana was in her height of fame. The BRF in WWII also sounds quite interesting, though I don't think I would actually like to have lived in the midst of war myself. The Dutch Royal Family at present would also suit me, as they seem to be such a close knit and lovely family.

Call me mad but I'd love to be a royal or aristos in the Victorian era!

I would have liked to have been a royal back in the 1980's.
