Royal Commemoratives, Collectables and Memorabilia

I can truly empathize with you on how oral surgery is just that. A surgery with all the trimmings and the pain afterwards. I hope the oral surgeon gave you some good drugs to help with the pain. Don't forget to keep rinsing the mouth with warm salt water if that's what the doctor ordered. It does help and saves troubles in the long run.

All I can say about the mementos is wOw!! Those are genuine pieces of royal history in their original state and a beautiful addition to a collection that means something to you. I'm reading King Edward VIII's biography at the moment and almost up to the point where he marries Wallis Simpson so it was really nice to see a photo of the original picture in the Daily Mail that you posted.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh really were the golden couple of their time weren't they? Probably even more so than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are now I'd wager.

Thanks much for posting these and hope you feel back to full swing soon.

At an out of town bookstore I have purchased The Grimaldis of Monaco by Anne Edwards. This copy was in excellent condition. It has a very detailed account of the reigning Princes of Monaco.

Charts/Maps of Royal Visits

Hi

I'm new to the forum and wanted to sign up to get some advice. I was recently at a carboot sale and came across the following charts/maps of previous royal visits. I was wondering if anyone would know their worth?
I have noticed they have officially been printed by the Hydrographic Office.

Any advice would be amazing

Pictures

Thanks

I have a lot of magazines on William and Kate, a round serving tray commentating Charles and Diana's wedding, a total of 3 collector's plates, one for William and Kate's wedding, and 2 from Charles and Diana's wedding, one from the Bradford exchange from their Diana queen of our hearts collection, and a Charles and Diana royal Edmonton Royal dolton plate, a Bradford exchange plaque photo of Willian and Kate's wedding, 2 albums of first day cover stamps from Charles and Diana's wedding.

That sounds excellent, ash. There are many Charles and Diana memoribilia collectors still out there!

Queen Marie Antoinette is one of the dolls made.

Beautiful. I'm a doll collector and very pleased to see these beautiful royal dolls

I've been collecting lapel pins from my travels abroad and, as I'm going to London next month, would really love to find one that represents the Order of the Garter.
I tried the Royal Collection site, but didn't find anythin similar... So I was wondering if you might suggest a shop that has similar items?

Ideally, I'd like to find something with either St. George and the dragon or The Queen's cypher encircled by a blue garter bearing the Order's motto.
ETA: A Garter star will do as well.

Any help would be appreciated!

PS: Windor is not on the list of places to visit.

Anyone have any items for the royal Monaco family?
As well as numerous biographies and magazines which I have collected over the years, I have been able to collect the Franklin Mint Princess Grace dolls, replica Princess Grace jewellery, numerous postcards and souvenirs relating to the 700:year celebrations of the Grimaldi family - including pens, flags etc. One of my favourite souvenirs was a press pack issued for Albert and Charlene’s wedding. I was the only bidder on eBay. It consists of an embossed messenger bag, notebook and pen and detailed information for the press.
Many of the souvenir special titles have small, print runs and are difficult to track down, but they do become available on eBay from time to time. Biographies of various members of the family, mainly Grace, can also be tracked down if you search on sites like Abe and of course, Amazon. But some of them can be silly prices. Similarly the Franklin Mint dolls.
