As you are in Portugal, is there a Royal House of Portugal? If so, is it a House that is covered here. I can't recall hearing anything about that lovely country and 'pretenders' to the throne (I don't like the word pretenders but it appears what is most often used. I apologize in advance for not knowing the answer myself.

I prefer the term "exiled royal familes" .

The House of Braganza was deposed in 1910 - the king and crown prince were both assassinated in 1908, and the next and last king was deposed two years later. He had no children, and there is some dispute as to who's the heir, but the generally-recognised "pretender" is the current Duke of Braganza, Duarte Pio.
