Royal House of Italy:

After the transfer of the capital from Turin to Florence on December 22, 1865, the order of the royal house strengthened the role of the Mayor of the Palace, who was entrusted with the internal government and ordinary maintenance of the royal house.
The Mayor of the Palace maintains the service of honor and representation of the court under his authority, ceasing the functions of representing the ambassadors that will be assigned to another official: therefore, the Mayor of the Palace is responsible for the services relating to the royal person and the Chamber, at the table, tidying up and cleaning the apartments, going to court; in a personal capacity, he is in charge of the visual arts of the palaces and royal villas.
On the other hand, based on the Royal Decree of January 16, 1871, the importance of the role of the Minister of the Royal Household is emphasized, who has power of attorney for the general administration of the Crown's endowment, has factories, gardens, parks, farms , furniture, arsenals, libraries, medal collections and anything not expressly reserved for other employees.
