I can think of no occassion where Mabel's outfit would be suitable - it's made up of the top half of an old ballgown, a pair of gent's business trousers and my aunt's old net curtains. I am appalled at her lack of finesse at such a wonderful event and can only imagine she will have the grace to feel abit odd sitting at the wedding reception next to other woman wearing such lovely gowns.

If Mabel got rid of the net curtains, and had a jacket made from the same material as the trousers, it would look decent at least, but not for a wedding.

Honestly, Mabel looks like she got the net caught up in her pants. Almost like when people get the toilet paper caught up. The top was great. They should have continued with it all the way down.
Rania's hair isn't great.
Elena's jacket reminds me of a Matador jacket, but the dress underneath is beautiful.
As for an earlier discussion of Anne. She always said he never bothered with fashion. I think it's amazing she can still fit into the stuff!! She really just takes awsome care of herself!! I think if she took what she has, and had it refitted it would look great on her.

The most terrible gowns/outfits at the Swedish wedding were Mabel's and Laurentien's, followed closely by Q.Beatrix and Q.Sonja. The most terrible hairdo was Letizia's. JMO
Infanta Elena's pink gown was quite nice (though pink doesn't suit her IMO). She just needed to get rid of the matador jacket.

Mabel, Laurentien, Elena, Mabel, Mabel and Mabel. I'm convinced that Mabel is really a performance artist masquerading as the wife of Prince Friso and this is all a big stunt. There's no way she can seriously get up of a morning, put that on, look in the mirror and think she looks good. There has to be a catch somewhere.

what was Mabel thinking really? or did she think at all?
I cant believe with all those beautiful dresses out there that they can certainly afford, they choose to wear such ridiculous clothes.

Letizia the most horrible hear-do?
What would you think of Queen Rania's with hair hanging out of the hair-do in the back and on the side (which I know is the style) but looked like the hair dresser forgot about them.
I thought Letizia's hair was really neat and very well done.

I do not think that Princess Elena's outfit was so bad. I loved the colour which suited her very well. Also the style o the dress was nice. And with the jacket I think that she just wanted to pay tribute to her country which is very nice from her. She looked like a happy woman.
I didn't like Mabel's outfit at all. She looked horrible. But maybe it was her intention to look different than others. She succeeded, but I am afraid not in a positive way.

Me too, I liked Elena's outfit. Like said in another thread she made a statuesque figure which suits her well. Something different in a good way. Mabel's outfit looked like she had a shower curtain on her waist..

Apart from the net curtain/trousers combination, Rania was worst dressed. Bad make up, Bad hair, cheap looking tiara like something from a childs toy store and a hideous purple dress that looked all wrong, cheap and tacky and very hard colour. When you think how much money she has and she knew the wedding was happening months ago, surely she could have done better and dressing Iman in a dress that was too dark and too old and too sombre for a young teenager is just horrible! Rania did not look regal, she just looked cheap next to the other ladies and she was outclassed in beauty, dress, jewels - everything at this wedding.

Infanta Elena in an outfit in 2007, she even had the nerve to repeat it in 2010. If she was juggling with chainsaws or holding some balloons, you could take her for a clown

I think the matador jacket was only for the Wedding Service itself. She would never go into a Cathedral without covering herself. Spagetti straps, even worse, strapless would not be acceptable to her in such a place but I would love to see a picture of her at the reception after she ditched the tribute to her Country!

Maybe I'm the only one but I thought Elena's outfit was really nice, jacket included!
Mabel, well honestly she looks like a cheap hooker you'd pick up in Vegas. She's obviously doing it for attention, maybe her hubby needs to pay more attention to her b/c she's obviously lacking love at home! I don't think I ever saw someone using a tiara with pants before!! AND she was the only royal not wearing a shoulder wrap, bolere jacket, sleeves or something to cover herself in church!
As for Rania by herself she looked awesome! But when you think about where she was going, a simple fix of the hair and she would of looked 100000 times better, I think she was missing some bling too! she definitely needed a bigger tiara or a bigger necklace to make her shine!

Infanta Elena's gown for the Greek wedding was a multi coloured numbered and it reminded me of a beach towel. Princess Michael of Kent's gown would have been very pretty except the cleavage was much too low.

Actually I'd take Elena's gown over Maxima's. I didn't like Maxima's dress the first time she wore it either, and her hairstyle at the Greek royal wedding didn't help matters. But by far the worst dressed at that wedding were the bridesmaids with their chests covered in sequins. Quelle Horror!
