The poppy dress reminds me of a nightgown. It doesn't do Catherine any favors.

I have to agree with Daria. The style reminds me of a nightgown

The print is awkward and not good. Kind of looks like she took poppy stickers and stuck them on her dress. The print doesn't look like it belongs. and again back to the loose curls. She keeps getting up my hopes with a glimpse of the gorgeous updos from Canada but then they disappear

The flowers don't even match in the seams! That kills me, couldn't they use a li title more material to do that? And, as someone else mentioned,,the print is too symmetrical. Nice cut though and are those sequins on it? If so I would like it better.

i wouldn't say the poppy dress was a before and after affair. it's okay, nothing wrong with it. but being mcqueen and this being kate, i guess i expect the bar to be higher. :(

Reminds me of a nightgowns robe in some way. I think it's the distance of each print. The length is nice for a change, the pumps are too boring. Moreover, this does not look like an Alexander McQueen creation at all.

Honestly if she was going to wear poppies, she should have worn her poppy dress from Bhutan. Not my favourite dress from that tour but certainly better than this look IMO.

That really looks like a nightgown/dressing gown. I don't remember this dress and I can see why.

to be honest I find both dresses have a similar style and feel like a night gown. Probably why the Beulah dress was not my favourite on the tour. But I feel the color and far more subtle print more attractive than this new poppy dress, and could be a good way to recycle

I honestly don't know what to make of this dress. It is not full enough to make it a ballerina length cocktail gown and it is too short to be an evening gown. To be honest, if that were no enough, I think it looks like a nightie and the loose hair just reinforces that perception. Perhaps if she had worn an updo it would have lent the dress some gravitas, but she didn't. All in all, it just looks odd.

Yeah, not a nice look, especially with that price tag.

See, and I liked it. A sort of double breasted/wrap shirt dress in a pretty print. The midi length is fashionable just now - even if we all hate it - it is being shown. And I thought the poppy print was an interesting digital take on a familiar form.
And red shoes always make me smile. Always.

It could look nice on some one else maybe but not on Kate. Posture, hair, etc

It could be a lovely dress, but in another size/fitting, and another length.

Not a fan. The boudice is too loose, and the skirt part feels like a curtain. The material doesn't seem suited to an evening look. Definitely not the glamorous look I was expecting from title of the DM article. Not even a great color or lovely hair style to make it stand out.

I don't care for it. Why the sudden obsession with crochet or cut-out designs? Kate seems to have worn so many lately.

The upper half is awful. It's one of her worst looks. She certainly has more impressive gowns, some that she has never repeated.
