I think she has this exact coat in other colors, but I can see why, it's a great shape and cut for her. She looked lovely. I also like her in the solid with the Queen & and the Duchess of Cornwall in prints.

Catherine looks really good in that particular style of coatdress but that is mostly because of the fitted waist and fully circular gored skirt. The more shape the garment has, the more attractive it looks on her. I wonder what retro-styled dresses would look like on her with their small waists and fuller skirts. Something like the belted full layered look such as 'Maggi the Cat' wore.

I think you are correct it is a 'uniform' , it would appear Catherine has found a style that suits her for work purposes, in and out of cars, bending down, etc etc... If you look at Camilla and the Queen they also have a ' uniform'. Camillas outfits are all of a similar cut, the Queen also wears similar styles but in a variety of colours and materials.

They ring the changes with accessories or trimmings on the outfit.

I agree, I thought Catherine looked lovely. I suspect she chose the light coloured ensemble to stand out against the red and gold backdrop of the room.

Stunning. Just what the occasion requires. It reminds me in style of Diana’s silver Bruce Oldfield dress. Lovely hairstyle and different eye makeup. Very sensible to wear minimum jewellery.
