From what we can see, not liking the dress. Maybe there is a full view shot later on.

Ups, hadnt realized that there is an eveningwear thread!
Time to get it started!

Red shiny dress at Prince Philip 90th Bday private family dinner. Doesnt look like one of my favourites on Kate!

That is one unflattering dress fabric & style wise, though the color is great IMO.

NOt very bad, but I've seen her wearing much much much much better than this!

Hate to be contrarian, but I do like the pink shiny dress on Kate. Can't see enough to decide if it is ill-fitting, I just think its lovely to see some colour on her.

So far Catherine hasn't disapointed me once!:flowers:

I don't like the dress but then, I never like anything by Stella McCartney. She's overrated, imo.

Has it been confirmed that the dress was by Stella?

Not just your opinion either. I rarely see anything designed by her that I like. I like the color on Kate (finally, people can see some color) but I need a better picture of the dress. So far not liking it. Autumn and Zara look nice though.

I'm not keen on the colour or the material from those photos. It's a kind of soft slipper-satin kind of material in what I would call "Krystal Carrington" pink, but it's a bit too shiny and polyester like! Well, I suppose I can't approve of Catherine's style ALL the time ;-))

Krystal Carrington Pink! LOVE IT!

I wish there were better pics of the night. I wonder if someone called the press. Its been very little press about the night.

I actually like this pink dress. It is very ladylike if you will.

I take back my comment about liking everything Catherine will wear as long as her hair remains long and beautiful..

I do not like this dress. At all. The colour is interesting, as is the style. But if Catherine feels comfortable in it, who are we to question?

From everything I've ever seen from her, the red Stella dress is number one on her worst outfits ever for me. Damn, that is ugly. Madonna wore it before and you know that when she wears something better than you, you have to get a better mirror. Or better friends who will tell you to take that rag off.

Well, f-ck me, I just realised this is a seperate thread now. For clarity: this comment belongs in the evening wear.

That is not an attractive, or a a flattering dress at all imo. Oh, Kate. You were doing so well. I guess we are all allowed mistakes though!

The "Carrington" dress is awful. It looks like something from my 1980 closet. I liked it then, but no reason on this Earth to bring back something so dated. I do like the color though. It would have been nice in satin-backed silk crepe or lightweight wool crepe.

...

The McCartney dress is a problem. I dislike the salmon color for one thing. It's hard to tell from the picture exactly what the cut is, but a couple of sites are showing Madonna in what appears to be the same dress. If that's what it really looks like, it reminds me of a design that was very popular in the 70's but wasn't very attractive: a sort of belted shirtwaist with a floppy bow at the neck. The Duchess seems to look better in it than Madonna did, but again, it's hard to tell.

Oh, thank you for the link. I'm pleased to know I spotted it correctly! :)

Now that is one ugly dress IMO but I agree IO cannot stand Stella McCartney so just that would turn me off but it actually looks better on Macdonna.

You know the dress/piece of clothing is a no-no when it looks better on Madonna. Yeah, Catherine, this dress is hideous. This is the first Stella McCartney that I've seen, and based on that alone, I'm not thrilled.

Good Grief..

Do Not care for this one AT ALL>>>.

too retro for me...

I have never seen anything by McCartney that I liked. IMO, her name has a lot to do with her "success". I hope that is the last dress by McCartney we see. If Catherine wants to try more color or a different style better that she makes another choice.
