There she goes again, mixing her casual private dress with her casual public dress. Jeggings and sky high wedges just don't cut it when flying the flag for HM at the Commonwealth Games.
Catherine is naturally very slim but healthy, however for all those budding little fashionistas who follow her as their chosen "Icon" they just see super skinny equals superb figure equals sucess.
I know it seems unfair but if her High Street clothes are the fodder of the tabloids which report these clothes sell out immediately she is seen wearing them then what is the message of jeggings and wedges send?

Not surprised by her outfit, I had actually expected her to be in her jeggings and blazer. It's boring and one can actually guess what she would wear. I don't think she was underdressed at all, she did fit the occasion but it's a boring look which we have seen over and over again.

I love the colour of Catherine's dress! It's wonderful. Her jacket/blazer is nice too, although this time I think she should've worn different shoes, as to me they don't go with the rest of her outfit. Perhaps some black pumps or high heels would've been better. Also, for the first time I think her hair looks a little unkempt, like she didn't brush it in the morning because she was in a rush or something.

I love the dress, and the blazer. I don't think the shoes are too bad, although maybe some black pumps. Definitely not high heels.

Her hair looked nice, the dress was a nice choice but she could've worn a different blazer and definitely different shoes. Im bored of seeing same/similar outfits to the same events. We have seen these outfits to sport events in the past. Something different would've been nice to see.

Burn those wedges! Surely she could find something stylish to wear to sporting events than that blazer. There are loads of great casual looks she could choose from. Time for a change!

I understand the feelings of boredom, however we also all know that if she showed up in a different/new outfit she would be roundly criticized. Maybe she would prefer to be trashed about being boring rather than trashed for new clothes/shopping/being on the dole/scroungerlazy etc., etc. She really can't win and maybe she's just going for the least offensive feedback. As it is she and William are being criticized for even attending the games (lazy scroungers!!).

I agree with those who think it's a deliberate strategy to keep the media from going too crazy.

Well Kate appears to have entered into the spirit of things. I agree about there being a " sports' events uniform", but she's certainly not dull when it comes to involving herself in engagements and this is what really matters.

Catherine looks casual, and nice. Yes, the shoes weren't the best choice, but perhaps she feels more comfortable in them. I know plenty of people who hate wearing flat shoes, because they feel as if they don't have any support.

I am among those people too. Her first priority isn't the clothes she wears nor are the reactions she gets from them. She dresses appropriately and to her own taste and I'm fine with that. Then again, I'm not overly interested in what people wear as a rule too.

I believe the press is trying to turn her into a fashion icon like Diana.
But Kate isn't letting them!

I just don't thinkl there is a need for her to continually have new clothes, or exciting clothes to wear to public engagements. I am one of the few people who think she should recycle her wardrobe more, not less. We live in a highly wasteful culture, and if she can be a role model for continuing to reuse our things, IMO, that would certainly have some benefit.

I beg to differ. There has been so much information available regarding every outfit she's ever bought on the High Street and these labels are even resurrecting styles from years before and restocking them because if Catherine wears it, it sells. Hairdressers too are ringing up the tills as fans opt for glossy brown sausage curls. An unwilling High Street show pony perhaps, but a show pony none the less.

I too like to see her recycling her clothes but if it is exactly the same hairstyle, shirt, blazer, jeggings and wedges then I'm bored. She has more than enough clothing to mix it up more than a little. The Stella McCartney dress is an excellent example.
As I've said before, if she's walking George or Lupo she can wear what she likes but when she is being the public face of the BRF then there is a standard below which she should not drop. Even William and Harry wore shirts and slacks and not tee shirts and jeans when they "dressed casually".

You are so correct, Marg! I could not have said it better if I tried.

I don't see the problem with her outfit. She's wearing skinny jeans, a nice top with a blazer and some wedges. Not the most exciting outfit, but it's appropriate for the venue.
William also wore jeans to the event.

I don't see a problem with this outfit either. It's not as if she was presenting medals, or greeting dignitaries. This was a sporting event, so it made sense to dress in more casual manner. I don't get why people complain about Catherine wearing jeggings/jeans, but they apparently have no issues with William or Harry coming to the same event along with Catherine in the same type of attire. Other royals, such as Sophie were dressed casually as well. No complaints there. I get that we're all entitled to our own opinions, but sometimes I get the feeling that some just want to nitpick when it comes to Catherine. Please, do give it a break.
