This gown would be very appropriate for a Spanish visit due to the Spanish style of it. Not here though. I agree it's too overpowering. The multi colours and layers is a bit much. I like the top part though.

I'm sorry, I'm spanish, and I don't see the spanish inspiration from here; maybe the ruffles, but this doesn't look like a flamenco dress at all. And if the inspiration was that, the result is really bad.

The first two outfits/suits are both quite decent and nice. The gala gown looks awful IMO. Lack of inspiration?!

most likely... I wonder who on earth designed it...
Green actually looks good on Sonja. The green gown she wore for Haakon's wedding is one of my favourites worn by her.
I really hope the Queen bought some nice dresses for the events at Victoria's wedding.

I think the problem with the coat is the type of fabric, it looks cheap imo. Apart from that I like the look.

It does look like a plate has been turned upside down on her head.

This State Visit is quite a recycling show by the Queen so far...
Today Queen Sonja first decided to wear a yellow suit and a white hat
Hat
Suit
anp
Later she recycled another 10 years old outfit - blue/white polka-dots suit and matching hat
Full Length view
Hat
Shoes
Let's see which dress she'll recycle tonight.

I don't like the white hat, but the suit looks okay.
The hate in the second outfit looks very classic but the outfit confuses my eyes.
I like her gala dress, but it looks very boring.
I wish she would wear something new.

I don't find the light blue gown flattering or pretty, unfortunately. But the recent blue/white outfit looks very modern and quite nice IMO.
