Yeah I agree. The top and skirt don't go well together.

Each would be nice on its own, but not together. I also think the jacket looks snug around the waist.

With the close up you can see there is pink in the jacket also. It's the cut of the jacket that is no good, and the way the colors appear from far away is not flattering. The pieces would be better on their own.
The jacket would look fine with a slim skirt out of the same fabric. But to have the vouminous skirt under it, it's all too much

Gorgeous, pompous and festive dress. I love the colour and the dress looks very good on the queen. And those gorgeous sapphires...

The white suit is very good too.

I agree these are lovely portraits of the King and Queen.

The gala dress is very very special, and I think the Queen looks lovely in both the ensembles.

The gala gown is beautiful and regal! Great color and style.

The white suit is also fantastic!

I agree with all of you! She looks very elegant and regal in both her gown and suit.

I love the open neck on that suit- perfect for showing off those amazing pearls.

Two beautiful official portraits of the Queen; words fail me at the sight of those superlative sapphires and tiara.

March 11, 2013 - State visit from Turkey.

Queen Silvia in a black outfit which looks very elegant. The looks for me is ruined by the boots. Personally I don't think boots should be worn on such an occasion, its dresses a look down for me.

Full look

i think the boots was becouse its very cold in stockholm now black pumps would have been freezing to wear at the outside

The suede boots look almost brown in comparison to the stark black dress. If they were of a different leather, or the skirt fuller, the boots may have looked better.

The boots appeared brown to me, as well, Baroness. Not an appropriate look for the queen, imho.

They looked great with the fur coat when she and the king met the Turkish President outside

That's probably why the boots contrast with the dress. That can be a bit of a sticky wicket: do you pair your footwear with your outerwear or with your outfit below? They'll look great with the coat on, but once it's removed the boots or shoes could clash with the outfit underneath.

That's a very elegant outfit but those boots look horrible with it.

Well, we don't know how long she was outside. Maybe she was outside for a long time, if so, the boots are a good choice, they are wonderful anyway and go with her coat.
She does look kind of shy about having her picture taken with the dress and the boots inside, I'm sure she knew!

The dress probably wasn't her first choice and had to be changed due to mourning.

The boots ruined the look I think some heels would've looked better

Very elegant appearance by Queen Silvia tonight at a dinner for her anti-drug charity ‘Mentor Foundation’ in Kuwait:
A chiffon dress in vivid blue, embroidered in darker blue sequins, with a cape-like top which ends in a short train in the back, worn with one of her modern emerald sets and a ‘fun’ crystal butterfly purse.

What a beautiful royal blue and I really like the bodice and sash; it looks like a huge flower at the waist. Silvia looks just stunning and I like her sleeker hairstyle. And what a lovely clutch; love the Art Deco butterfly design.

Queen Silvia looks very elegant, I love her dress and hair style. Her jewels are nice too and so is her bag. A very glittery outfit I think! Lovely. :)

HM looks absolutely stunning! What a beautiful color that is.

She looks beautiful..haven't seen her like that in awhile.
