Queen Rania tried hard, but failed. The blouse was overwhelmed by balloon sleeves and embroidery. She could have worn one of the nice thoubs she has.

In this case I agree she would be better with a thoub. Really unflattering combination of blouse and skirt.

I have to agree I'm afraid. It just looks bitsy and not put together very well. In this place, at that time, for that occasion, a really gorgeous thoub would have been the cherry on top. Instead she looks totally under-dressed like a sparrow beside a peacock.

QR has some stunning thoubs designed by Elie Saab. I wish she'd recycle them for grander occasions like this.

I agree with your comment, this is the best phrase about her outfit, she looks under-dressed, like a sparrow beside a peacock, it is exactly the phrase which describes it

Yes! that's exactly the one I had in mind. It's one of the most stunning, glamorous dresses I've seen Rania or any other royal women wear.

In another visit to Morocco in the past she had wore a thoub-like Temperlay London dress.

Yes when she went to Morocco solo in 2007 and wore the black and white caftan inspired dress to the Fez Music Festival. Even that was quite understated. So it's not like she's unaware of how her Moroccan hosts dress. I think over the years she has simplified her evening wear quite a bit.

Yes in the Fes Festival in 2007. During the Official Visits with the King in 2008 and 2009 she wore two black dresses that are very very similar, you need see details to know they are two evening dresses and not the same.

I wish she'd worn this dress to Morocco.

If it's a part of the dress, the neckline is too much for me, but the rest of the dress is beautiful.

I agree with you. The giant flower necklace overwhelmed the look.

I think the neckline and the flowers is very cool and different to the typical evening dresses, this is fun yet not over the top. Great look but would've preferred hair up.
