It looks better with black accessories instead of the brown ones she wore this time.

Not a fan of mixing brown with charcoal and gray-

I think it's a new one -happily in brown tones without interfering gray:D. Paola's jewelry (earrings as well as brooch) looks very appealing i.m.o. and her jacket with its patterns made of different fabrics plus its long edged sleeves is really smart.

Indeed. I think everything was chosen with moderation but I'm afraid the brooch doesn't stand out enough...It should be more shimmering IMO.

The jacket in really nice. For me, a broche here was not necesarry.

Queen Paola at a reception for the Permanent Representatives and the Heads of Mission to NATO, the Members of the International Staff and the Military Representatives to NATO, as well as the general Officers to the SHAPE (Brussels Royal Palace, January 20, 2011): http://www.isopix.be/temp/preview/ISOPIX_00030986-008.JPG (details)

This jacket has dressy red edgings and I like Paola's classic, rather massive gold jewelry (e.g. worn lately at the conference "Vulnerable children on the run" in November 2010) as well. Black, red and gold is an attractive looking combination of colours which reminds me a bit of the Belgian flag;).

Queen Paola attended a mass in memory of former members of the royal
family at Notre Dame de Laeken church (Brussels, February 17, 2011):

The nested part of Paola's winterly, asymmetrically styled hat looks very chic i.m.o. and I embrace the fact that she has worn some lighter colours (cream coloured silky blouse, olivish gray skirt plus shoes) in combination with her dark coat.
Maybe it's a bit off-topic, but this time I was absolutely amazed at the queen's incredible resemblance to her mother, the late Princess Luisa Ruffo di Calabria (see for an example here http://cdn.theroyalforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=93148&d=1108298948 at Prince Philippe's communion):). In Paola's younger days that wasn't so manifest i.m.o..

She has already worn that coat with its prettily structured fabric and nice patterns while visiting the Royal Museum of Central Africa in Tervuren on October 26, 2010: http://i54.tinypic.com/2z4lsba.jpg
Well, when I recently saw the queen at the New Year's receptions, I suspected her of letting her hair grow again (which would have been great), but considering the photos above, it's entirely clear that she didn't have this plan for now... After all, I could admire Paola's fancy strawberry earrings again which are perfectly in line with her cosy greenish clothing beneath the coat -unfortunately not so much with the latter.

Nice coat and looks good on her.

Her coat matches nicely with the grey and black outfit.

An appealing ensemble i.m.o.. Turquoise and cyan shades (earrings, top) look exquisite on Paola, mainly due to her eyecolour (which appears kind of indeterminate between blue and green). I also like how that light flowery print on the queen's scarf harmonizes with the dangling white pearls of her earrings.
By the way: Paola is quite clever at combining parts of her jewelry :D-I've seen that golden main part of her earrings many a time with different gemstones or pearls...

Gray suits her and doesn't make her look boring or sad. I like matching scarf and earrings. The bag is nice too.

The cape-like coat is nice but the dress has too many polka dots. A solid coloured jacket or blouse underneath would have helped to offset all of the dots.

I like the coat, the suit is nice too, flattering cut but polka dot print is very busy. Nice jewelery.

Normally nobody may enter Museums with this handbag!.
HM should have worn a more elegant one instead of wearing a bag for a whole day trip!
I think it is a Delvaux , but they have beautiful small ones.

That chocolate brown colour of her skirt is much more apt for Queen Paola than the sandy tone of her classic jacket i.m.o. but at least its small ribbon on one side serves as a pretty eye-catcher. I fancied the queen's light golden eyeshadow (see 7th pic from IBL) as well -though I couldn't recognize in the photos above if she repeated this nice detail at the Claerbout exhibition (however, she took along a suitably coloured pair of glasses;)).

That colourful jacket of Paola's second outfit looks timelessly gorgeous i.m.o. -lovely, refined fabric with some particularly chic creamy vertical strings and ribbons. It also exhibits a felicitous cut for the queen. Regarding her skirt, I'm convinced that she could still take the liberty of wearing somewhat shorter skirts (at least in summer:D) because her legs don't seem to be a trouble spot...

The June 2nd outfit looks good (and what a hat). I only don't like the shoes.

A rather simple black and white combination -not very special in comparison to the day 1-outfit- but I like the slightly translucent fabric of Paola's skirt as well as her shoes with their zigzag opening. Hence, the queen's day 2-look is alright whereas her day 1-look inspires me since it kind of reflects Paola's fascinating personality i.m.o.: a soft, delicate grounding blending well with multiple vibrant, typical highlights :flowers:.
