i like the black dress for QUeen Margrethe's 75th, sash and all; i think Q Maxima looks brilliant, and so does hubby.

I actually really like tonight's dress. It has a flapper vibe. And the fact that it's all black means that the various textures do not seem overwhelming. I like that Maxima experiments with her evening wear and we don't see the same cookie-cutter dresses on her all the time.

I like the dress, particularly the top half. For me, I think some sort of a wrap or cape with some of the feathers may have balanced the silhouette out. For a modern twist on the flapper style / 20s look Maxima did well!

It lacks the elegance and regal look that a Queen requires, imho. I also dislike her open- toed shoes and unpolished toes.. (But I am grateful that they are not painted a bright red!).

Agree totally. I will say that the jewels are nice though.

I am not sure about the dress as there is too much going on. I liked the tiara and hairstyle.

Love the jewels but dont like the dress at all.
top looks like a peasant-style blouse and the bottom is a cross between a feather duster and a toilet brush.
W-A looked great - best accessory on the night!

This dress looks wonderful in motion- much better than the stills:

It doesn't look any different to me in motion. It still droops on her shoulder and her lipstick is waaay too bright. Love the colors...

Her hair and make up are lovely tonight.
The dress however should never be seen again!

I don't have words.
To me , it's creepy. Like Cepe said, cross between feather duster and toilet brush. Gives me the willies to look at it.

It is different for sure.
Perhaps I would like it better if it was a short dress and there was less of the bottom part. And if it was a different occasion.
For an official birthday dinner the colour and style was a ghastly choice IMO.
