It does indeed appear to be her pre-wedding gown. I looked it up on Order of Splendor, and there it was. The dress looks even better on her now.

Here's a picture of the orange confection (along with other pictures):

It's the same gown.
Maxima looked lovely and it's nice to see the dress again.

It is certainly the same gown but it changes depending on the light, whether it was day or night, or artificial light.

First: Pre- Wedding Gala. The first at the pre-wedding event and the second at Märtha Louise wedding

Second: Märtha Louise wedding Wedding. With the two photos you really get a sense of colour and how things are meant to look.

Queen Maxima looked stunning in that orange gown, one of H.M.'s best appearances of late.I wonder what long white gloves would looked like with her outfit?

Almost speechless because Maxima looks fantastic from head to toe. The gown is so timeless, and I agree this is one of the best looks.
I should imagine long what gloves would work quite well, the balance of the whole look would be fine with them and the diamonds of the tiara. How about long orange gloves, or would that be a little OTT?!

She looked lovely. Kudos to her to fit into a dress nearly 15 years and 3 children after it was first used.

I am also pleased to see her reuse expensive couture, something I think all royal ladies can do a lot more of.

Order of Splendor has a lovely little youtube video showing arrivals and departures for this occasion. It's sweet to see Princess Beatrix so radiant (with blue eyeshadow) and so obviously enjoying herself. And Princess Margriet! At about 1:46 in the video, you see the back of her neck- triple strand of pearls in the front, great honking big silver-dollar-sized diamond as the clasp!

A great, eye-catching look in red for Queen Máxima at the opening of the new season of the Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest in Amsterdam this evening, September 10:
