According to Royal Hats, Maxima also wore this hat on a trip to Argentina in 2006. It is stunning.

Now This is one stunning outfit from head to toe!! One just cannot top the smartness of black and white in my opinion. The pearls just add to the perfection. This is how a queen should dress.

Maxima scores yet another gold star with this ensemble.
The hat - oh the hat is to die for, a symphony in black and white with it's broad brim allowing her gorgeous earrings to shine. And yes, you did see right, she has resurrected that utimate hat accessory;
The ornate hat pin - of which she wore two, perfectly balanced for the hat! The back right, white pearl and the back left, black pearl. (VOS)

The dress - perfect with its white top and black bottom in a flattering slim line. Very 1960's, except for it's elegant length.
The accessories - the gloves (VOS), clutch and shoes were sublime.
The jewellery - fabulous. The pearl and diamond brooch shone, just in case we missed the beautiful pearl drop earrings or that equally gorgeous bracelet.
Maxima is truely magnificent in this ensemble. She has the gravitas to wear those wonderful jewels and 'very old school' accessories.

Maxima's ensemble from the top of her hat to the tips of her finger and the toes of her shoes . . as near to perfection as we can hope.  
It is interesting to note that this ensemble relies on great hair and all the accessories as Iceflower has shown above. Without them it is as bland as baby Farax. What is even more interesting is that this is another version of the great ice-blue wing flap disaster. Which just goes to show you don't have to write a dress off completely . . . just clip the wings.

The black and white is so glamorous IMO she looks stunning, the blush pink is beautiful the headpiece .. jury still out .. the pearls are gorgeous in the black and white as well.

During her two days in Germany, Maxima's been looking great. I love the colour of this outfit and even don't mind her hat.

Like the colour; would have preferred a skirt (that doesnt crease up); checked top ok but off the shoulder? (Just mentioned this on matilde's Daytime Fashion thread cos she's done it as well).
Ditch the hat! There is something wrong with wearing a hat with trousers/outfit that is more towards casual than dressy.
