Does have Natan bulky skirt week?

Sorry but Max can so much better. Her out-of-this-world personality cannot save every outfit.

The lobster around the neck is back!!

I wouldnt mind the skirt too much but Maxima's blouse, while lovely in itself, just doesn't go with it. Perhaps if the blouse was a bit more streamlined it would look better.

That's what I thought as well. The skirt could have looked better with another blouse - different cut and another (stronger) colour!

** Upper part ** Close up ** Hat **

Lovely retro 1950's theme.

She is wearing these oddly proportioned skirts lately. This one again makes her look much wider than she is. The print and colors are nice, but the style is bad.

Her blouse is lovely, as is her hair. I don't even mind this hat. But that cheap orange necklace is a huge miss.

Yep. That about sums it up.

Sometimes, when I think Max (or any of the royals, really) have missed the fashion mark, I just imagine them wearing what any of the other ladies in the photo are wearing. My point is not that the public dresses badly, but we all have our own style and this kind of mental swapping usually lends some context to what I think.

hahaha! you made me laugh, duke. :flowers:

I LOVE this skirt. i mean, i really do. love the colours, the length. it is a shame it seemed to crease as the day went by, but i would love to have a skirt in that fabric. so fun and cheerful.

and, yes, i even love the lobster. :p

I like her headpiece, and that's the most generous comment I can make regarding today's outfit.

i cant decide about that last outfit it's all a mess like every piece deosn't belong
the skirt is lovely though i like it.

I am sorry but the lobster is atrocious no matter what color it is. brown we would just have to call it the porcupine, or blue sonic the hedgehog.

I like the bold and daring choices of Queen Máxima. From classic stunners to fashionable statements. Some royals never ever dare to wear anything else than the safe pearl necklace. Luckily Máxima is more adventurous, with all chances to for a mishit (in our eyes, I assume in her eyes it was bulls eye).

I think the skirt and the necklace are awful.

The silly necklace ruins the outfit ,hopefully we'll see some better wardrobe moments in New Zealand!

Really nice outfit on Queen Máxima and great accessories, she looks really well.

I liked it that all days Queen Máxima remained on the protocollary level: all days with hats, gloves, matching bijoux and neat hairdo.

The only difference with Queen Beatrix is that the last one used to change her clothes twice a day (or three times even, when there is an evening event). Queen Máxima did that too, when she escorted Queen Beatrix as princess during State Visits.

I understand might be protocol but really to change clothes twice in the day for days event I think it is not necessary, of course I understand the evening event you have to change clothing but in the day tie, the same clothes jewellery and hat should be enough! I wonder why Beatrix was doing that?

Love this dress and the overall look. I think Queen Maxima looked terrific, very smart!

The dress is very beautiful. Love the colors.

I suppose to make sure nothing is wrinkled and she looks spotless throughout the day?

She looks amazing today. I love the dress, and the accessories are on point. :flowers:

I think that would be possible if the couple had some time to change or head back to the hotel during the day. It seems that Maxima's agenda didn't allow her to do so, it seemed she was from one event to the other, so it does make sense she did not change.

The Princess B examples aren't much, in one appearance she has a cape on with same outfit, the next cape is off. Then a change maybe that was a later event that she had time to change and the last was an evening event which obviously she needed to do so.

Duc_et_Pair, you need to take into consideration if Maxima did actually have time to do so or not. Moreover, who really cares how many times they had an outfit change during a day, protocol doesn't require it. Doesn't mean the previous royal did, then the current royals follow.
