The pink ensemble worn in 2006 was the best one among the mostly unfortunate lace creations by Maison Varela.

I think a scalloped neckline might have been better - thank goodness it was daylight and no flash photography lol

What a figure and what great posture! The black and blue lace dress is great but could have used more on the neckline as she is so slim. Even a necklace would have added some more bulk to the area.

Letizia looked great in the Hugo Boss outfit in the evening. I doubt that anyone could wear that beautiful jacket better and the leather dress is modern and has nice colour. The jacket isn't too businesslike to be worn with the dress in the evening. Together the jacket and dress are a good combination.

Gorgeous outfit, especially the color of red, the shoes and handbag. Love the way she always carries her hand bag and stands so we can see her outfit. Was she a model before she was on TV? She certainly knows how to use the camera

No matter how well-made it is or who wears it, any leather dress is inappropriate for an official engagement.

IMO this is extremely chic, and perfect for most official DAYTIME events... [not for the very grandest of course].
i'm not so keen on it for evenings however.. i'd prefer a more feminine, softer look for those occasions.

I agree with you about the leather for official engagements. Remember another princess wore once also and didn't like. But having said that, the over all look was great on Letizia. To wear leather properly you must have that extremely thin shape {Kate, Mary or even the late Audrey Hepburn}. Anyone with an inch of fat would look like a sausage roll. I did like Letizia's shoes and purse with the outfit and her makeup perfect.
Actually I would have preferred a steel gray jacket instead of the black.

I'm not so sure on how I feel about Letizia's latest outfit. I love the colour of the dress, though am not a fan of the leather. It's better material for a bag rather than a dress to me. In that colour, it would make a very smart and nice bag, but as a dress, it just looks a little awkward to me. I also don't think the jacket/blazer goes too well with the dress, as for me it looks a little clunky with the leather. On the other hand, Letizia looks elegant and I love her hair, clutch and shoes.

Halloween alert!! The black lace is not my favourite. The top part is not too bad but the bottom part is really ugly. As if a curtain had been added.

Although I'm quite tired of seeing her in black lace, I think this dress is beautiful, much more than the black lace one from Varela she wore during the State Visit from Mexico. I love her hairstyle and the red lips, and I do't mind her wearing the floral tiara again since I think is a stunning piece. I just don't like her choice of earrings, her wedding ones would have been perfect.

She looks beautiful in the gown. I wish the lining were illusion and the bottom is a bit odd - but I cannot argue that she looks less than splendid.

Wow, this dress looks AMAZING on her! She looked fantastic in it. Letizia rarely wears dresses like this one, so it's refreshing to see. Plus it's not Varela!

The dress looks better on her than the model. Very feminine and glad to have a new designer. Love the tiara, red lips and hairstyle.

I love her dress! It's so pretty. I am so glad she is in Herrera than Valera.

That dress was like made for Letizia, I can't imagine anyone looking better in it. It suits so well to her petite frame. Her make up looks nice with the dress, I liked the red lips. Letizia and the floral tiara are a winning combination, and her hairdo was lovely as always. After seeing the video, I could see that the Herrara dress looks lovely in motion.
