I'm not fond of this dress. Not very elegant.

The dress would perhaps be appropriate for some star at the red carpet at some celebrity event, but not for the queen of Spain. The dress without the lace is way too short. Letizia has many beautiful black dresses, why she bought this? The hairdo and earrings are fine but they don't save the look.

Agree that this is too, revealing for the queen of Spain. Without the lace bottom would have been ok. Love the earrings

The dress per se is fine. Actually I like the lace embellishment on the skirt. Queen Letizia's figure allows to wear such dress. However, Queen Letizia tried hard and ended up looking inappropriate. This dress is more suitable for a younger lady.

Too short and too celebrity. The lace "lengthening" the dress doesn't count. Excellent hair and makeup.

Letizia wants to look young and sexy with a super short dress and a revealing neckline but ends up looking ridiculous, at least as a Queen on official duty.

I think she looked great! I would have worn a different dress but to each their own. She looks amazing for 44! I knew she was in her 40s but didn't realize she was 44.

Oh my. Well, she doesn't have to dress like that just because she is fit. I mean, good legs and all, but that dress is too much. Especially for a theater night.

Well, I like queen Letizia, it is just this look that I dislike (among many others).

I'd like the dress without the lace bottom. I don't think she was underdressed though. Some of the long dresses the women wore looked pretty casual.

From the pictures of the other women, Letitia isn't underdressed. Other than the photo of the lady in the long silver gown. Length of a dress doesn't denote how fancy a dress is. I find the lady in pants, the lady in the purple print, one in pleated skirt and white top all far more casual.
That said I hate the dress. Other than her high wasted pants, I am usually a huge fan of her style. But the Lacey bottom of this dress is horrid

The black dress could be perfect for any other woman in the world but completely inappropriate for a queen, mother of two and 43 years old. This is a perfect stage dress but a shame for her to go out half naked

For newsanchor Letizia Ortiz partying with her colleagues from TVE, this is okay. For Her Majesty The Queen of Spain this is a pure no-no. How can someone still sink to the knees and whisper "Your Majesty" against a lady who thinks that going out in a nightie is appropriate?
