Wow! Fantastic dress! Love the embroidery and cover up arms and back and flatter them. Great hair, earrings and posture as usual

I like nothing about this outfit, it looks like something an iceskater would wear, too short.

The shoes don't work with the dress at all and the feet already tell a good story about the footwear they have to wear every day.

Oh my god is soo awful. Don't flatter her at all. The dress is nice but not for Letizia.

The grey dress in Miami does not need to see the light of day again - in fact it should have remained a 'private' dress worn like previously to a wedding.

I don't mind the outfit the shoes are however a terrible choice on Letizia's behalf.

I love this beaded dress with the marcelled wave in the front of her hair. There is a bit (only a bit) of the flapper in this look. It's very appropriate for Miami which has a lot of Deco era styled architecture. And the color would match parts of your average Miami Sunset.

This dress is a knockout - and totally appropriate for Miami. Love the hair, too.

Cheap choice if you ask me... I think the look suited Letizia (minus the wave) but uhm it looked so so out of place...

No, she tried to hit the nail but she missed it. When I look to it, judging a Ms Ortiz attending a party, then she is nicely dressed. When I look to the same, but now judging Her Majesty The Queen of Spain attending a party, then I am very underwhelmed. No sparkling fleur-de-lys diamond broche, no pearl collier, no diamond rivière, it is almost like watching a modinette with a belle petite figure in an atelier showing a dress for sale. No, until now Doña Letizia has underwelmed me. Taste is in the eye of the beholder, most likely others will be in total awe for this petite dress. So be it.

Totally appropriate for Miami, great nod to the Art Deco preserved section of the city.

I agree. Nice look for the event and the city in general. I love that she takes a step out side the box with some of her looks.

Letizia looks terrific, love the 20's vibe. Few people can carry off that hairstyle. It's a beautiful dress.

i really do not like this. looks ok with coat but i think it looks inappropriate without it.

The Olympia Theater dates from 1926...

...so her dress is charmingly appropriate. The pictures from the DM are lovely. As for " cheap-looking", I'm pretty sure Varela doesn't do cheap-looking.

So, what's "inappropriate" about this dress? It's one thing to not like it, but to call it inappropriate .... I don't get that.

Because Queens, Princesses, Duchesses, etc., are unable to determine inappropriateness for Queens, Princesses, Duchesses, etc., without input from the commoners on the internet?

I dislike the design of the blue dress.

You are right. If they would only confer with all the protocol, tradition, culture, history, jewelry, clothing and style experts on these boards perhaps the royals would then get their acts together.

Very true about the flapper look.
That dress could double as a Halloween costume! :ermm:

The dress looks good with the coat but the dress without the coat and the hairstyle looks like she went to a themed party.

I think her choice of shoes for this occasion is terrible, just looking at her feet pains me . . . all that outdoors walking

It's not Letizia's best outfit, but I love the 20's vibe and the Deco style. The dress looked good with the coat and even without the coat. She could have chosen another shoes, but her hairstyle is gorgeous. There was nothing inappropriate at her outfit, with the coat it was fine to the inaugurating Miami Dade College academic year and without the coat just perfect to presenting the Spanish Film Festival.

The black and blue dress is lovely.

I like Letizia's latest dress, it looks great on her. I find it rather coincidental that the last time she wore this outfit was when she had a meeting with Barack and Michelle Obama, I wonder she purposefully chose this dress today because of that, but I think it's most likely due to coincidence.

I like the color, and the sparkle, but it is too short and ice- skater esque.
