Letizia looks fabulous! Love the little loops detailing as it adds that extra touch of style. The fit is perfection. And of course, the color is always special on her.

The outfit is appropriate for the occasion but not Letizia's best choices. But she looks much better today with an updo and different earrings than in 2012 at the same event with the same outfit.

I dont like the top in any way. The design is too casual, the fabric look cheap and I dont understand the collar. The overall look though is nice with the undo and the pretty earrings.

She looks nice just from the neck up 
The outfit is just awful, probably the worst Varela has done for these receptions 
The top is so ugly with that collar and the cheap sparkle, the belt is too casual, and the skirt has no appeal at all, IMO.

I like the dress. The cut of the dress is wonderful on the Queen and the sequins just add a little sparkle. The hair and makeup are beautiful as usual. The earrings are okay. I would have loved to have seen some pear and diamond drops.

I agree that even with all the sparkle the overall look is casual. Must be the collar and the fabric. Love the hair and earrings though.

I agree with the others that both the top and the skirt fabrics look cheap and also poorly made. I do like her hair up, although it has looked better. Her make-up is lovely.

Oh no sequin top with a zipper,yuk. It looks thrown together and the two pieces don't go together. Too much unrelieved black. Nice hair, earrings and make up.

The top is horrible,however her hair,earrings and skirt are nice but Letizia can do better especially for a formal reception at the Palacio Real.

I don't hate the outfit, just the dark color on Letizia. She should always wear bright colors around face as dark drags her slight features down. I like the top, but not on her. Maxima could wear with ease. Her hair and make-up looks clean and well cared for. Over-all, she looks like she went to a bit of trouble with that appearance, but just the color did nothing for her slim shape. Plus, this looks like one of those outfits that does not photo well. Might have looked better in person [we have all been there]. I always admire the color choices of Queen Elizabeth II as all current colors that she wears complements her skin tone and photos extremely well.
