There are many sustainable and pleasant reasons for Princess Claire to borrow an outfit, but why not just wear her own clothes in this case? With all due respect to Queen Paola, it's not like this outfit was too amazing to pass up.

If it's just to reinforce Laurent's notion that she has nothing to wear because he has no money to pay for it, that's not great. Especially when it's the first time she's had an engagement in more than a year.
