I'm not in love with the hat with the dress, and yes, the fit is not great. I just think she is doing so much better in dress and deportment than I ever thought she would, that I'm happy for them.
And I'm not intending to be snarky. I think she steeped into a sartorial minefield when she married. She was so unliked by so many from the start. And there was no way she could follow Victoria or Madeline's style without it being read as competitive or overreaching.
She has come a long way from idle beachwear and casual separates. Her taste could have headed in any number of directions. It took a nice turn. Good for her.

The color is great but the dress style is just a bit too much with the loose cape/sleeve detail and the cut in the front. Moreover, the dress is simply too tight.

I agree with the comments that say that this dress is not so great. Fine with the color, not so much with that drape. It should have been more like the dress Madeleine wore for her brother's wedding to work. Uhm, Sofia certainly knew that her body has been and will be changing for the following months right? That thighness isn't flattering on her. She should have opted for a more loose/maternity dress, or something that doesn't makr every curve of the body.

i like the dress but gosh... way too tight for a woman who just gave birth (or any royal woman, for that matter). however, i like the design of it, it's kind of interesting...

The red dress that she wore yesterday was much better.

Such a shame after the great red dress from yesterday. The color is the only thing I like about this one...it's really not flattering ..and entirely too tight.

Yes, not the best look, especially after the nice red one yesterday. But there's always tomorrow.

Way too tight, but then looking around, in fact at the very attractive family in back of her, their dresses were too tight too, so many in the congregation, is it the style in Sweden? The hat was really worse than the dress, but the, only p Mary's was nice IMO, so many terrible facinators

I really like the dress design and colour, but it indeed looks too tight.
Not a fan of her hair and fascinator.

I also noticed that " tight" seemed be be the rule of the day for ladies dresses!

Loved the style/cut of the dress and the color on Sofia was quite lovely. The hair and fascinator were fine. BUT....the dress was a touch too tight on her. But I wil say that she looks wonderful for just having a child just a few weeks ago.

The color is lovely on her

That said I do not like the style at all. The fussy drape/cape shoulders are too much on the dress. And the dress is too tight on her.

Is it really fair to criticize her dress for being too snug? I looked at the pix before I read the comments, and I didn't notice it. Her baby is five weeks old, she planned to wear this dress for the christening, and all some can say is it's too tight (translation: fat post partum princess).

No one is calling her fat. Simply a bad choice of dress. Sofia was aware when she chose the dress that she would be post-pardum. Certainly there is more flattering styles and materials that could have been chosen. She looks sensational in her red dress yesterday, not just because of the color, but because she chose a great dress that accommodated a post pregnant body.

Her dress was no tighter than that of several other attendees. Tight or too-tight dresses are very popular now. It seems a small courtesy to politely ignore women's body issues when possible.

I don't care for the dress itself and I guess the tightness has an up- and a downside. She's in great shape but it looks like it's an inch or so too tight for her right now. I don't mind something that is tight, but it should never look like it's bordering on uncomfortable, which it does now to me.

The hat though... Girl, what were you thinking.

Kind of looks like she has a plate upside down on her head. Like Nicolas decided to throw his breakfast on Aunty's head and it stuck Not a fan of fascinators but that really is a poor choice.
