These days, young women wear platforms because it's in fashion, regardless height or social or economical status. The other day I saw LA's wife wearing a pair of red platforms and she is not small.

it's not about platforms in general although i believe that those are most suitable for YOUNG women (in their 20ies or early 30ies) as a fun thing to wear. apart from that, they are worn by celebrities. letizia fits in neither category as she's a princess who should not be associated with the boulevard society, actresses, socialites etc.
but the most striking argument against them is that those shoes do not suit letizia's tiny figure and skinny legs, she looks ridiculous in them instead of trendy and fashionable, as for example penelope cruz.
i agree about wearing colour, felipe looks boring anyway in his daily suit so letizia should splash some colour, even if only with accessories.

its very difficult to be elegant with casual outfit, Letizia is, as always ....

Yes, I agree Ikram,Letizia does not have to hide their slender and long legs IMO.
Regarding to the shoes, here in Spain it do not have been so criticized, in fact people will diminish the importance (perhaps because these are trend and people are not SHOCKED that a princess wear platform shoes). After all, here, a princess is a modern woman who works for her country and not a fairytales princess....
So platform shoes are entirely appropriate if Letizia likes IMO.

I think Letizia and Penelope are similar in size. Platform shoes probably goes better with trendy and edgy clothes Penelope or other celebrities wore, than the conservative and boring suits or coat dress made by Varela.

both women have a very different body shape. penelope is much more "woman", fuller or curvier on the "right" spots, tiny but in no way skinny.

I am surprised to see her repeating this so quickly, but perhaps she is trying to send a message about being responsible about clothing (not shopping excessively, etc).

Lovely suit, this is a great shade of red, not too bright. I like the match of the top underneth which is a recycled. I dont remember seeing this suit before, I quite like it.

Lovely outfit indeed!
This is the best color for Letizia, suit her perfectly. Like you say the shade of red is also nice.
The top underneth match very well with the red suit IMO, Letizia wore this top some months ago with a skirt with the same print and the red suit is new.

I like the suit but find the applications on the skirt too much or even distracting. The buttons on the jacket are a classy addition to the outfit but the applications on the skirt are odd - from very close up we can see what it is but only from a step further away it looks like Letizia splashed coffee over her skirt at last minute. Hate the shoes, the shade of red imo doesn't even match the colour of the outfit.

indeed lovely outfit. the suit's fabric does look very good quality, that's why the red looks great- she has some red suits which look quite cheap because of the fabric.

What a lovely outfit. The suit is very beautiful and the recycled blouse fits here very well.

I have noticed something about P Letizia, when I like her clothes she's usually smiling. She seems to be quite somber at times, certainly not all occasions require this, I would love to see her really bust a gut once in a while. The red is a great color on her.

Red suits her very well. She looks wonderful. And I want to say that I love the make-up that she usually wear time ago

I like the color and shape of this red suit. Red is definitely one of her best colors. I do agree with Duke of Marmalade. The detail on the bottom of the skirt looks kind of strange, like a spill or stain. I think that this detail could have been omitted.

I agree it is a nice outfit (except the detail on the skirt) and also the shirt looks nice with this suit.
Too bad those shoes. I don't like them, though they are not her worst pair of shoes.

Love the red suit, it's wonderful and the top underneath is great with it. She looks lovely and the shoes are ok with the outfit.
