Poked my head in to see the current fashions, am not impressed, and heading right back out!

I think this is going to be a very quiet thread.

If this woman puts anymore beige or carmel in her wardrobe there will not be a metre of it left for the rest of us ...

For a while she has decided to stop impressing us. So I guess we are all disappointed.

Beige doesn't suit everyone though its a very neutral color. She needs the right make up for it and thats something she lacks quite a bit at events. She looks good in color, remember that plum evening dress? That was a really nice color for her. Moreover, the orange dress (same version as the beige) looked really good on her. Not sure what it is with beige for her.

I think she has the potential to be very striking, but it might take a bit of time for her to work out how to make an impact as opposed to just looking like she wants to be anywhere but where she is.

Charlene at two events celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Societe des Bains de Mer on July 5th and 6th. I think she looked good in the recycled dress in creme (plus hairdo and earrings). I also like the colour choice for the dress today, but the cut of the upper part is not nice:
** Full view ** Upper part ** (July 5th)
** Full view ** Upper part ** (July 6th)

I love the second dress, cheery, and beautiful for a nice summer day.

EARRINGS; quick, open the jewelry thread! And they look like diamond drops. Charlene really pulled out the stops, didn't she?
The blah beige of the first dress was just bland. A sea green or light turquoise for the summer would have been beautiful. At least with the second outing on July 6, she was more adventurous with the color scheme.

I love the second outfit-COLORFUL, young, summer-appropriate. But I think it looks weird because she chose not to wear the proper undergarments.

The first dress is simply terrible. I neither like the colour nor the design.
The second one is cool but I agree that she should have worn undergarments.

Oh, finally some color! The second dress is great, and fun. The first dress, however, not so much.

The first dress is fine but boring.
The second dress is really ugly, the colours don't look good on her and the dress doesn't flatter her figure at all. And she could have washed her hair, make a hairdo and put some make up on.

Interesting that we can have such different views about these dresses.
I think the first dress is painfully boring in colour, pattern, and style, and far too long; it's dragging on the ground. And I think the colour does not suit her at all. However I like the second dress very much. It's much more colourful and I like the cut, which is much more interesting and flattering, and it's a better length.

Why does she need to "smarten up"? She is the wife of the ruler, and, as such, the highest lady in the land and Albert appears to approve of what she wears. She can wear what she jolly well likes.
ETA Based on a quick look at the way Albert has been dressing lately, I have a sneaky feeling that fashion and appearance are not very high on his list of priorities so I can't see him dictating to his wife how she should dress, and if he isn't going to do it, no-one else is likely to.
