The dress is different, I agree. I dont like everything Charlene wears but I think she is one of the few who managed to have a style of her own, love it or hate it.
Even when I hate it, I can still see why she would be wearing what she is wearing if that makes sense.
Love the hairdo, makeup & earrings.

Don't like that dress at all. Also, it doesn't look like a gala dress to me, more like a shapeless maxi dress one would wear walking with firends in a summer time (if only the pattern would be nicer...).
At least make-up and earrings are nice. Her hair looks better than recently, but I am not a fan of her cut.

This dress just doesn't scream "gala dress." the earrings are beautiful but seem incongruous with the style of the dress.
Tht being said, her hair and makeup are exquisite.

I agree with dazzling, the dress is shapeless.

Not a big fan of the dress, but her hair and makeup look fabulous.

I agree, CrownPrincess5. I am pleased to see her finally wearing beautiful earrings and her engagement ring.

The cut of the dress is simple and works on her but that pattern can make one dizzy. Her hair, makeup and earrings are lovely.

One can certainly argue about the dress. I have seen definitely better but honestly her make-up and hairstyle are simply flawless and her earrings are to die for. So Charlene manages to look stunning despite a not so stunning dress and that is quite an achievement in my opinion.

I agree with you.
This is not the type of dress I like but it's not ugly at all.
It's original but certainly not ugly.
I have seen so much worse on some royals
Her make-up and hairdo looks great

Absolutely stunning. Love the hair, make up and earrings. The dress is different, and seems a little loose around the waist, but I love its flow.
Where can you see her engagement ring?
Do we know who did the dress?

Although I love the hair/makeup and earrings, and can appreciate she wears this gown beautifully, I find myself thinking this is more suited for Hollywood/fashion award rather than the gown of a first lady.

That's one awful dress. The material is so cheap looking, it reminds me of something that might once have covered an ironing board.
I don't understand why Charlene's stylists can't find her an evening dress that doesn't emphasise her broad shoulders. Surely it can't be that difficult?

.
A wonderful dress for Princess Charlene who handed out presents at the Red Cross headquarters in Monaco today, November 17, she looked great:
** Full view ** Upper part ** Side view with coat ** Upper part with coat **

I love the dress not crazy about it with the coat which I think is bit heavy looking for the lightness of the dress. But I like it on her ... I do wish she would not wear such dull colours though ... but an pleased she looks nice here.

Maybe she LIKES her broad shoulders. After all, they do make your hips and waist appear much smaller.

I could see that if her bottom half was more curvy, acting as a counter balance, but it's not. These shapeless dresses don't emphasise her waist, which just leaves her looking very lopsided, like an upside down triangle shape.
Charlene raised expectations herself when she said before the wedding that her main aim as Princess was to 'bring fashion back to Monaco'. Other princesses talk about not wanting to be fashion plates, Charlene was different. She set a higher standard for herself and yet her fashion choices seem to be continually underwhelming.

I don't think I will ever understand why women seem to have such a problem with another woman having broad shoulders and an athletic build while most straight men don't. I agree with Sir Roger Moore, she has beautiful shoulders and I can't see any good reason why they should be hidden or disguised.

I agree totally. She worked very hard for that body and I see no problem with her showing off the results of all that work.
