She recovered by the end of the day LOL

I was shocked that it was skinny jeans as well only because Meghan’s legs are the skinniest I’ve ever seen.

She has a wide waist and then skinny legs. Flares are a much better choice for trousers.

Her legs looks just fine in skinny jeans. Skinny jeans are intended for people with unfairly skinny legs. I always think I look odd in skinny jeans, and my legs aren't THAT thick. It basically allows her to do well in any pants.

I wouldn't say Meghan's waist are wide. It's actually quite small if you look at the photos from yesterday. However, she does have a rather short waist and more curves in the bottom area (I feel a little weird talking about this in relation to a soon to be member of the royal family). She's got rather long legs for her height.

I’ve seen plenty of women in skinny jeans. Meghan’s legs especially from the knee down look like broom handles.

Short torso or wide waist, skinny jeans don’t look good on her imo.

I really hope there isn't a fuss and backlash if Meghan decides to continue to favour straight haiir. I just detect a few observations here tending towards a view that she should embrace her natural hair. With regard to the damage she may be inflicting, perms and colours can cause significant damage if not tended and treated correctly. I have regularly coloured my hair for many years and it is still in good shape. Meghan likes her hair straight and knows how to keep it looking good.

I'm not sure whether you're referencing my post. ? Please know that just because I've mentioned a few times about Meghan as a youngster always wanting to have straight hair does not mean I think she needs to wear her hair natural. I do know that I stopped perming my hair at some point due to the damage it can inflict. There are other ways these days rather than chemical perms to straighten hair in any case. But the blowouts as well require protecting the hair with healing balms and moisturizers. Meghan I'm sure knows all she needs to know and then some about how to protect and care for her gorgeous hair. And also, I am not in any way attempting to tell her how she needs to wear it. I'm simply making observations, and sharing my thoughts along with articles I've seen with quotes by Meghan. Even Chelsea Clinton never wears her hair naturally curly and in its naturally red state anymore. Chelsea straightens and colors her hair. A lot of people do and its not a big deal.

Long thick curly hair is more difficult to manage than keeping hair straight. Although using straightening methods does require a lot of attention in order to maintain healthy hair and scalp. None of this is news or surprising.

In the Style Code video posted several posts ago, Meghan speaks directly about how she takes care of her hair and the damage caused by blow-dryers, flat irons, etc., when she was filming Suits and the producer wanted all the female actors to wear their hair down. That was a directive. Meghan wore a ponytail once and an updo for the wedding scene and that was it. I had to laugh though when Meghan said the producer/director felt that men love women to wear their hair down. A comment on our patriarchal culture.

She is very well dressed and I love the messy bun.... well with a face like that she can wear it !

I've seen plenty of women who are straight-waisted wearing skinny jeans. Not sure what the problem is, unless one simply objects to skinny jeans, period.

''Fiancée Meghan'' style really isn’t working for me. I can’t wait to see what she wears for Trooping and Ascot in June. Both formal daytime events with the Queen present and with hats. And, hopefully, she won’t wear black for that. I think this will be our first indication of ‘’Duchess Meghan’’ style.

I think William Hanson's comments were quite picky. Just because HM wears bright colours doesn't mean that Meghan should have to, we all have our own taste in fashion. Meghan looked nice today and I didn't have a problem with her outfit, even the jeans since she compromised with a smart coat. As long as they are worn with a smarter top or jacket, I don't have a problem with royals wearing jeans at official events. Jeans are comfy and easy to move around in, as well as practical in cold weather, so I can understand why Meghan would have wanted to wear them.

It’s not that Meghan has hips. If you look at her without Spanx on like at Invictus or in Wales she has no bum.

Obviously not everyone has a perfect figure but imo skinny jeans do her no favours with such skinny legs.

Doesn’t she wear extensions though?

I don't know if she does but she would still have to straighten her own hair to match the extensions.

Honestly I've seen that said in the media but I don't think she wears extensions.

From what I've seen of her hair, no. You can usually tell if someone is wearing extensions if you are familiar with them.

It seems to be a bone of contention as to whether or not Meghan wears extensions. I think that has to do with the perception that black women don't have long hair, which of course is completely false. Everyone has different textures of hair: thin, thick, wavy, curly, kinky, straight, no matter the color of your skin. There are quite a few 'white' women actors and models who wear long hair extensions to add volume and length to their own hair. In many cases, their hair is already long, but it might be thin or not as long as they'd like.

Black people are not one entity, so that's another thing to remember. We come in all different shapes, sizes, skin colors and ethnic backgrounds whether you're so-called 'black' or 'white.' There is this whole thing about kinky hair vs 'good' hair, which has been the conceit given to wavy hair or more loose curls or straight hair in black people. And some black people definitely do have wavy and/or relatively straight hair depending upon what their genes and DNA decided. And then there's thick kinky hair, or thin kinky hair which means hair that's hugely difficult to manage and therefore has a tendency to break off, and that's why the myth has been perpetuated that black women don't have long hair. How anyone's hair grows and how it looks depends mainly upon the texture of their hair and how it is cared for. If naturally kinky hair is maintained in dreadlocks, it is going to grow all the way down the person's back if they care for it and allow it to grow that way. In my family, everyone has different textures of hair and skin colors. ?

Getting back to Meghan, most people do not feel she wears any extensions. I would say she has enough thick long hair that she probably doesn't wear extensions. However, if she cuts or trims her hair at times working as an actor, it's very possible to add a pullover extension into already long hair just to add a slight bit of extra length and volume on occasion. But again, Meghan's hair is so thick and long anyway, it's not clear that she does this. A lot of models and female actors do, especially white females who have thin hair. But rarely are awkward prying questions constantly raised about white females wearing extensions and wigs. ;) Female actors often have to do a lot of things with their hair and makeup to alter their looks for different roles. I think it's possible to say that Meghan mostly does not wear any extensions in her private life since her hair is so thick and long. If she ever has for any reason in order to add length after slightly trimming her own hair, I don't think it's a big deal, so I don't see the issue either way. Still there's this curiosity and assumption that her own long thick hair is not her hair.

Look at these childhood pictures of Meghan and realize that she has always had very thick curly hair. When she straightens those tight curls, her hair falls all the way down past her shoulders. Obviously she's trimmed it through the years and she conditions it in order to maintain its health and strong texture. But she's likely never cut off much of her hair.

In this graduation picture, this is not a wig, not extensions, it's Meghan's hair: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pQ71hiju1U4/maxresdefault.jpg

Meghan as a teenager before she started straightening her hair -- gorgeous long curls, and it's her hair: http://ugc.reveliststatic.com/gen/constrain/640/640/80/2017/11/28/13/vs/oz/phjmd9x1ws2qbwe.jpg

Meghan probably at about 4 years old with tight curls that if straightened would fall all the way down her back:
https://peopledotcom.files.wordpress.com/2017/12/meghan-markle-13.jpg?w=669

Pre-teen Meghan with her hair pulled back into a bushy ponytail with tight curls. If had been straightened, her hair would fall down past her shoulders in this picture. http://s3.india.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Meghan.jpg

Pre-teen Meghan wearing glasses in a picture with her older half sister, Samantha: What would make anyone think that this is not Meghan's own long thick hair in this picture?!
https://static.pizzabottle.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/meg1-758x397.jpg

Meghan between high school and college. It's all her own hair:
http://chicagopressrelease.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/9d63Meghan-Markle-sorority-photo.jpg

Oh, and here's a picture of Meghan's Mom, Doria, as a teenager in high school with her own hair in a huge Afro style. I'd say that Meghan gets her thick hair as well as it's curl a lot from her mother (and not just from her father does she get her hair's length and texture!):
https://cdn.images.dailystar.co.uk/...00/620x/Meghan-Markle-Prince-Harry-659630.jpg

And now at this stage of her adult life, it looks like Meghan has probably allowed her hair to grow to a bit longer length and she has it layered. At different periods, it looks like she's trimmed her hair where it looks slightly shorter and less layered. If she's ever used extensions at times for additional length when she's trimmed her own hair, I don't see the big deal either way. And with all that head of hair, she certainly doesn't need to wear wigs.

Hips and bum are two separate things. She has decent hips.

But no issue is ever made about white females wearing extensions and wigs.

This is definitely not true, there are thousands of comments on this forum, blogs and social media about white royals and celebrities wearing extensions and particularly Kate has had some vicious things said about her hair. Just today I was reading a fashion blog with many comments about Nicole Kidman wearing a wig.
Not everything is about race.

Yes, and her legs are very long, enabling her to be able to wear all sorts of pants. Plus she has a nice waist, as seen when she wears bathing costumes.

I have a daughter who has hair like Meghan's, and I've always encouraged her to embrace her beautiful locks. Like it or not, Meghan is a role model and many people would love to see her embrace her natural hair.

If she ever wore her hair completely natural in public, the entire Internet would collectively lose their damned minds.

Personally, it makes me a little sad to see someone straighten their gorgeous curls. It does take upkeep, especially in damp climates like England. But, her straightened hair looks well-tended.

There is nothing sad about someone straightening their hair, just like it's not sad when a redhead goes blonde or brunette.
As soon as I learned Meghan had very curly hair I assumed there would be SJWs (not saying you are one) criticizing her for straightening it.
Meghan shouldn't feel obligated to wear her hair a certain way because you think it is somehow empowering. I'm a black woman and I am counting down the days until I can relax my hair again. Kate has wavy hair and she always straightens it. Diana dyed her hair and I'm sure other royal and famous women did some kind of process to make their hair look good for them.

I think Meghan looks fab in most everything she wears, including skinny jeans. I didn't like the throwback boot-cut trousers she wore during her London shopping trip and visit to her facialist. Do you have a background in the fashion and beauty industry Rudolph? ? Actually, one of the style articles I linked earlier states that one of Meghan's best assets are her uniquely thin legs. Maybe some people are just jealous how Meghan rocks what she's got. ;) That actually should be the Meghan-style takeaway for everyone: Use whatever attributes you've got to your best advantage.

Unless you see Meghan in person up close and personal, I doubt you can determine how wide or small her waist is in any case. I think we can say with some level of accuracy based on the plethora of pictures available, and on her height measurements, that Meghan is fairly petite like her mother, particularly in her bone structure. In fact, it seems clear that Meghan takes a lot of her small-boned body structure from her Mom, Doria, and not from her Dad who seems larger-boned and obviously very tall and fairly heavy. Meghan is quite well-proportioned and attractive physically and facially. Meghan with her Mom:

Beach style for Meghan and Harry definitely shows that Meghan not only has a 'bum,' but that Meghan and Harry have very strikingly similar skinny legs, to an amazing degree (except that hers are petite and female, and his are longer and male): http://z-news.link/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/a698d3c62175d64763a395c502a801b6.jpg

As I mentioned earlier (and maybe my comments were missed): I think that Meghan is following her individual style rules very closely and that at the moment, she and Harry want their public visits to be about the people, places and charities they are visiting and bringing attention to. They are not interested in their visits being about what Meghan is wearing and how she styles her hair, no matter the clamoring and petty critiques in the tabloid media and on Internet forums. Knowing that what she wears will be scrutinized however, Meghan is making sure to promote British brands and to advocate for designers who promote a healthy environment or who are building beneficial community efforts and donating to worthy causes.

Yep where there's negativity and petty criticism, it doesn't matter much the background details. Whoever is in the public eye will be criticized for something or other at some time or another. But let's be honest that black women have assumptions made about their hair much more often and pointedly. Ultimately, such assumptions and criticisms are neither here nor there, despite how often they continue to be perpetuated in some people's minds. That was the point of my earlier post.

As far as race, there are no different races. It's a manmade construct. But in terms of fashion and beauty, culture, style and our global society today, I defy anyone to say that 'race' (a faux concept) is not always the elephant in the room. You wouldn't need to deny it, if it wasn't a deep-seated and complicated factor in all of our lives. :flowers: And I believe there's a thread for that topic.

But anyway thanks. I went back to qualify my original phrasing. ?

Here's a very cool article in which Meghan's previous fashion tip appearances on the Today show have been compiled into a video montage. And the writer of the article discusses how much she has learned by listening to Meghan's knowledge of fashion and style:
https://www.elitedaily.com/p/this-v...advice-proves-her-style-hasnt-changed-7623043

An article on Meghan's style evolution with picture gallery; see photos 18 & 19 for different wider pant styles:
https://etcanada.com/photos/275177/style-evolution-meghan-markle/#image-274971

And btw Rudolph, it doesn't matter what any one person feels about Meghan's sartorial choices or perceives about her body shape. ;) British designers and clothes manufacturers are very happy and grateful for Meghan's fashionable presence and trend-setting style, which is benefiting them and the British economy already: :D
Hiut Denim has been inundated with calls after Meghan Markle wore its jeans - Wales Online

Like I mentioned, everyone's watching Meghan and Harry, and M&H are making it about the people and places they are visiting, and not about themselves & what they're wearing. They have to wear something:

Meghan Markle's Fashion and Style Part One: November 2017 -

Don’t like the messy bun or the hair she has to brush aside
I don’t like the dark colors or jeans when she’s working
She taken on the “job” and like most jobs there is a dress code.

And she’s not violating any of the protocol. Just because you don’t like it (which is fine), doesn’t mean she’s violating any dress code. There is a range to work with and she doing it her way. There is no need for her to show up like an overdone Barbie or stepford wife for engagements like this. Now for more formal occasion, I have no doubt she’d dress appropriately for that as well.

Did you also notice he objected to the "black" coat that she wore in Nottingham. All sources at the time said it was navy blue, which is how it looked in any pictures I saw.

Maybe he can’t see color very well? I mean he is wearing an awful lot of bright colors there himself. Maybe that’s the issue? He could use some monochromatic if you ask me.

TBH, I really wish we could all agree just not to post any articles by William Hanson in the forums. He's the worst kind of "'etiquette' snob", one who uses the concept of etiquette as a weapon, thereby making him the least polite person in the room.

Wow, you take a nap and all hell breaks loose!

Everyone is allowed to have their own style preferences, and mine is for letting beautiful curls loose. Therefore, I do find it sad when someone straightens their gorgeous curls. I want to see the gorgeous hair and don't apologize for having a preference.

How do you know her curls are beautiful when loose :ermm:

Anyone with natural curls can tell you that straightening your hair actually can be a lot less work. Your natural curls can be frizzy/messy. Trying to calm them enough to make them look professional for a day event is no easy task.

As for the royal expert....he really does need to come into the 21st century. You cant expect Meghan to dress like the queen or women over a decade older then her like Sophie. Just because Kate chooses to, doesn't mean that it is a rule that Meghan is breaking.

The days a woman has to be in a skirt or dress to look professional, ended a long time ago.

^^ I agree, as I already mentioned earlier. Natural curls, no matter texture ain't easy to manage, though wavy or curly hair can look pretty if well-managed. Straighter hair while sometimes problematic to achieve (and important to moisturize and give dedicated attention to in order to avoid dryness and breakage) is easier to style, or simply pull back in a ponytail, chignon or topknot. ? Dramatic braided hairstyles while costly and time-consuming to achieve can last for a long time and are easy to care for, and look nice for casual wear, work style, or dressy occasions.

The ongoing "hips and bum" discussion has been shortened, as it was moving in circles, a couple of posts have been removed. Of course the individual body shape influences our fashion choices and can ruin our looks if we don't pay enough attention to it, but we should not fill page after page with posts about body shapes only, please discuss the fashion choices instead. Thank you!

What I don’t understand is why there is a constant need to compare. Kate has beautiful hair and so does Meghan. Both wear hairstyles that sometimes accentuate that and other times they don’t. Both have their own personal style that some may or may not like. It’s ok. There’s no need to put one down to elevate the other. This is a competition. Neither is better or worse just different. I thought this was about Meghan’s fashion choices not thinly veiled putdowns of Kate or Meghan or about race.

In my opinion, her outfit in Wales is the first time I’ve actually liked her whole outfit. I do agree that her hair is too messy and she’ll need to experiment and find a “messy” bun that works better for engagements. She’ll figure it out as she goes along.

Though she does have thin legs, her jeans aren’t too fitted so I think they actually look very nice on her.

Regarding her hair, I don’t care how she wears it. I’ve heard that she gets blowouts to straighten the curls. Honestly, her natural hair might be a little bit much to handle so she may prefer to straighten it. I’m sure it’s beautiful but natural hair can be a lot of work in my experience. Not only that she was an actress so it’s not surprising That she wears her hair straight.

I thought she looked lovely , she would look good in anything, hair was a little messy but I liked that .

I've seen the photos of Meghan wearing her curls, and they are beautiful. Again, I have a preference and would love MM to wear her curls, but I don't think she has an obligation to wear her hair one way or another.

As well, Meghan is the wife of the second son of the future king. She is under the microscope of the media, but she has a different "station" if you will, and I think she's been appropriate in dress and demeanor at each of her public engagements.
